Failure to bring in any wingers as competition was a missed opportunity in the last window

I’d like to think we tried at least.

Who did we miss out on?
How much budget is left for players?

We have to bear in mind the budget constraints under FFP
Charlie Wakefield and JJ were also on the books although recovering from injuries
Wakefield seems to be getting back to fitness now and will be on the bench as back up

Hasn’t looked great for the under 23’s mate tbh

What frustrates me with Hiwula this season is he gets into good space, cuts inside nicely, but lacks the pop shots he tended to score from last season. I also think Shipleys incisive passes havent been as accurate this season, could be contributory. Hes shown great vision, has just lacked the execution of the passes for me. Still a very talented player though, and I'm sure Hiwula will find form again

Hiwula looks like a chap who suffers with confidence. He should have smashed the ball into the open goal yesterday but tried to take a touch which he didn't even manage.

That's true about Wakefield so far but the hope is he'll pick up as he recovers his fitness and confidence after a longish stint out with injury
He played for England U16 & U17 so he must have something about him

Shipley’s passing is not great for a midfielder I feel

You could forgive him for hitting it first time and missing it or not getting enough power on it or whatever. It’s frustrstinf he didn’t even try it though

I thought Jobello did well yesterday. Didn't tear up any trees, but certainly didn't let himself or the team down. I agree with the posters who've mentioned his work supporting Dabo at the back too. And to be fair to Hiwula, he was a bit hit and miss with supporting McCallum, but he was trying. Wasn't helped by McCallum's tendency to get sucked inside a little too often. I think both of the wider players get some undeserved bad press on here at times.

Any kind of punt towards goal and it would have went in. His decision making was bizarre.

Hiwula was trying to get it onto his good foot, the trouble is he doesn't know which it is.
