I posted a similar thing re. Hyam's current deal (Dominic Hyam Contract) and he got a resounding: Yes give him a longer contract!

I also believe we should tie down Jordy Hiwula to a longer deal too, as his runs out 2020 also.

Won't do a poll this time!

Thoughts?

Yep, think he is under-rated by a lot of Cov fans. Has an eye for goal and will score more this season.I think we have more attack minded players capable of actually getting the ball into the right areas.

Iffy start but improved massively as season went on. Could be a real threat this season

Rate him. There’s a 20 goal striker in there and Grendel has singled him out as someone he doesn’t rate.

What’s not to like?

In fact let’s wind up the bet machine.

If he plays 40 games he’ll score 20 goals. Every goal under that I’ll donate £2 to any charity.

(Last time I did this was for Jody Jones and he ended up being injured for about 2 years)

No rush, he has this season and next plus an option i think, so I'd probably wait until Christmas and see hiw he/we start the season.

Lol mine was in reverse. I donated a fiver for every Chaplin goal last season and expected 100. It was only 40 so i topped up for his Sunderland miss snd penalty over the bar to 50 then tweeted him to ask him to match it as for charity and he didnt bother to reply.

Surely hiwula is more valuable than Chaplin, who fetched 1 million. Tie him down on a longer deal

Since I thought he was on loan for the most part of the first half of the season last season, if you’d asked me about a contract extension I’d have said let’s give him a contract first never mind an extension

I think he is a classy footballer but needs classy players around him...not lump it drongos or some of our fans shouting "get it forward!"

Didn't know that ta. Just looked up when we signed him and you're right a 2 year deal so yes we do need to act. He cant go for free as under 24 but we should certainly look to be offering something.

Seems a few contracts offered last summer were two year deals with an option of a third year in the clubs favour. I'd imagine Hiwula and Baka are in this category considering we paid money for them.
