Hit-and-run victim dies in hospital

Sad news that the poor bloke has died.

Something really doesn't add up, a van on cloned plates hits a Zafira on cloned plates and crushes him between that and a fiesta.

Van is then found burnt out and people ran from the Zafira.

Scum of the earth and I hope they get found soon enough.

Just heard about this. Absolutely awful. There’s no way so many people should be going around on cloned plates but it seems every time there is an accident a vehicle with cloned plates or a driver with no insurance is involved.

It makes you wonder just how many of them there are.

You would think ANPR would be able to pick a lot of them up with cross referencing. If the same "car" has gone through different ANPRs in the same sort of timeframe in different places it should flag it.

I can't understand how scum like this carry on with their lives as if nothing has happened. When they're caught, they just shrug their shoulders as if it was an every day occurrence. They have absolutely no feelings whatsoever. I hope that when they are caught they will be given the heavy sentences they deserve. Scum!

This was my friend of 26 years. It was devastating news to hear on Wednesday that he had lost his leg but it never did appear life threatening until yesterday morning. Sadly he gave up at 10 past 8 last night surrounded by his close family with extended family and long term friends including myself in the waiting room just outside.

If anyone has any information on who was involved I urge you to contact the police. The van in question has been all over Facebook as it was spotted in Bedworth that day nicking motorbikes. The police think that the car behind them, the one that crushed my friend was with the van. What’s worse is that the people in the car had clearly seen they had crushed someone in between two cars but still took time to empty the car before walking away into the crowd that had gathered.

Aaron left behind a three year old child and has two parents who are retired. If anyone can help by donating anything to help towards the funeral and for something to put aside for his daughter in the future then anything will help. I have fond memories of running around willenhall with him as a child and I’ll remember them forever. RIP Aaron.

So, so sorry to hear all this. It just seems like something out of a movie.

What a tragic waste of a life. These people simply have to be caught and made to pay for what they have done.

Hopefully there is some decent CCTV footage of their scummy faces somewhere.

My sympathies. And yes, that's disgraceful behaviour.

At least your friend will know he was loved.

Yes mate he will.
Another positive is that his family agreed to donate his organs and 24 hours after dying he has had 6 organs (two kidneys counting as separate organs) removed and they are currently working their way around the country to people needing them who he has matched with. Hopefully that’s 6 lives he can save.

I just can't comprehend how his family and friends must be feeling. I lost my sister aged 23 in a car smash many years ago and it devastated us as a family, especially my mum. It was a tragic accident and in those days, seat belts weren't compulsory so she might have survived. However, what this man's family must be going through is heart wrenching. Words cannot describe how I feel at the moment. Sorry just doesn't seem enough somehow. I sincerely hope his family find peace really soon. I know it will be hard. It's been just over 47 years since I lost my big sis. I still miss her.

Let's hope the local people will think to check what they may have caught on camera.

I hope the perpetrators get found quickly and justice is served.
