Scary thought, theres a ground, feel sorry for any team to go this way. The club will now be wiped from this season's records.

After playing for their reserves I knew this was coming a few years back. Sacked all the backroom staff to bring in Manchester City rejects from all over the country to salvage something. R.I.P Hinckley United

Been to watch them many a time..great little stadium..originally the Marstons stadium..became the Greene King.

A shame to see such a great facility not going to fulfill it's purpose,,Sound Familiar??

Not sure what will become of the stadium ..it holds around 4000 if memory serves.

It's within walking distance of my home...and there's a hill.

Its only now that CCFC are in such a pitiful state (off the pitch) and I worry for our future, that I appreciate the pain of the other fans in a similar - and worse- predicament. Such a blow to the club especially if its due to the owners management of the club!

I was going to take my lad all season to Hinckley when Ricoh news first broke.

But he went on his own and told me it was poor quality (To be expected in that League) ..and wouldn't be going again thanks.

Shame to see Hinckley go into oblivion. Although I am a Cov kid, I have lived in Hinckley for the last 26 years and have seen them on the odd occasion, including when they lost the play off final at Burton against Farsley Celtic a few years ago. 3-2 up with one foot in the Conference with 2 mins to go and then conceded 2 goals with the worst offside trap I have ever seen!! I think part of problem was too many Leicester and Cov fans in the town who, like me only saw them once or twice a season. That and the owners bleeding them dry!

The stadium is still being used on a Wednesday night games for the Youth Team, and Saturday mornings for the under 21's, their development side (academy for want of a better word) continues unaffected - my son plays in the Youth Team in the Midland Floodlit League and we were told last night at training that we/they continue as before - it is a cracking set up and I have said before it would suit CCFC (while getting these low crowds in Northampton) I would even say that if CCFC played at Hinckley they would get more turn up...they even have a hill that looks into the ground...

Its not beyond the realms of possibility that SISU would look to buy the Hinckley stadium. Got to be cheaper than building a new ground from scratch, closer to Cov (just about). Stranger things have happened.

They are my 'Local' team too ! I used to watch them at Middlefield Lane before I was old enough to be allowed to catch the bus over to watch City on my own back in the early 80's. Hardly went to the new ground though to be honest. They have been poorly supported for a long time considering they have a catchment area of around 80,000, they tend to struggle to get 500 of their own fans down there. They have been torn apart though by a succession of owners who all thought they were onto a winner with a football club and failed. The situation is very similar to Rushden and Diamonds in that it's a tidy set up that needs managing properly.

I honestly dont know how the former Chairman can walk around our town without feeling the shame of his contribution ........ First Fe downs and the Sketchley Grange , and now the football .......Failure springs to mind !

Loads of room there too, plus has a full sized floodlit 3G surface (academy maybe?) handy transport links, 10 miles from my house in CV3 - obviosly would need some work but it could happen - I think the club liquidated for £200k, so what could you buy the ground and land for?

The club only rented the ground didn't they? But you have to assume it would be for sale at a reasonable price though now with the winding up of its primary tenant

I understand it was rented from Mr Downes (Pension Fund) - considering he is selling a lot of his assets at present, and has just lost out on £200k, I assume he would be keen to do a deal...and a ground share with Hinckley would give CCFC some extra income every other week.
