Buying both seems interesting, would we need that much space? Would the plan involve having one for first team use and the other for academy use maybe? I also wonder if buying the Higgs Centre would mean it couldn't/wouldn't be used as a public facility any more?

I use the Higgs so hopefully not, the Connexion needs bulldozing and starting again, surely both would be open to the public, good income and boost FFP maybe

Might only be interested in one of the sites. Bringing it together seems a smart option also could be using one as leverage against the other to demonstrate options and prevent either site being over-valued. Would certainly love the club to take on the connexion, bulldoze it and get a full complex maybe with a hotel in the way Man City have or even Incester's looks decent.

Played there in the 80s, we were the worst team in the worst league, Steve's Hunters was our team name
The Connexion does hold good memories though but very dated now

I never understand why people don't understand the business of the sport they love. Many players would of been shown around this summer or been in talks and even shook hands. It means nothing. Agents of players would of been on the phone everyday to the club touting clients to us. So if a names gets mentioned on here understand its not a lie or something that didn't happen its just might not have come to anything.

To ridicule is pathetic, as for the original post i got told a few weeks ago the same. And by multiple people from different sources that have no reason to lie. I don't doubt anyone's opinion on here, because its an opinion or information past on. As an individual you have the right to reply or ignore just like this post. Do as you please but at least have some understanding of what every club does, every agent does in this business regards to players.

Fwiw I didn't used to mind GIMOCs input but there was a point where it all turned very negative (at probably the most positive period we've been in for decades) and it became clear his source was a bitter clown.

Beginning of last season he had a horrible agenda towards King and the club .
The final nail for me was his beneath contempt thread telling us all Sakamoto had sustained a life threatening injury .
I'm going to block him as he grinds my gears

Any reason mentioned? I'd heard the rumour about the connexion but not what the purpose of buying it was though I'd imagine it will be to extend Ryton.

And it’s definitely not people running with a rumour /idea they’ve seen on here or on twitter? (as some of the rumours “ITKs have spread)

Seems silly to have a split site if you’re spending money though. Get that ultra modern eco stadium at Warwick sorted for the training ground Doug.

land is land. you can't go wrong, especially with the new gov committed to building 1.5 million houses.
both sites could be sold in a few years for £££s for housing.

I always thought we may have eyed up Wasps old training ground but there's never been mention.

Birmingham currently using it since their training ground fire and have a 3 year lease as of December. They've spent some money on it too...

i wouldn't be surprised if the cbs is sold for housing at some point, tbh. there has to be some value in that plot.
the only possible problem would be what was there before. playing football there is one thing, not sure the land would be clean enough to live on.

I may be wrong or not upto date and would welcome the following being confirmed/updated. The Higgs centre originally owned by the Alan Higgs Centre Trust was sold to the Coventry and Warwickshire Award Trust who also owned the AT7 centre which I think no longer exists. Not sure if they still own the Higgs centre. The adjacent land was owned by Seven Trent and CCC. Seven Trent sold the Whitley pumping station and the land belonging to it to WPS Trading Limited(Derek Richardson and David Armstrong). Looking at companies house, a company called Hottinger Capital Partners Limited had a charge over this purchase and that charge was satisfied in 2018. Not really sure what that means but I think it means ownership of the land was transferred to HCP Limited? Can anyone with more knowledge confirm this and do they still own it?

update on the Higgs Centre. It was transferred by the AEH Charity to the CWA Trust on the 17th March 2016 for zero pounds Subjected to restricted covenants. The lease of the land and buildings to CWA Trust is for 150 years, starting from 17th September 2003. A charge was registered against the the transferred lease and buildings on the 17th March 2016 in favour of the AEH Charity which I think means basically they can retake ownership if anything happens to the CWA Trust.
The directors of the CWA trust are Paul Breed secretary, Peter Dick director, The Earl of Aylesford director, David Moorcroft director and Malcolm Whitehall director.

The land, including Whitley Pumping Station was last sold on 26th October for £10,200,000 including VAT.

Makes sense to buy it and extend the training complex. An indoor complex would be good for all manners of use

Is that buying the actual Higgs is just the land it's on?

Might be me being naive, but wasn’t the council’s issue was with Sisu/Joy rather than the club?

Can’t see that personally. The costs alone to dismantle the arena and then prepare the land for housing would be extortionate.

Isn’t there a 250 year lease on the CBS that will be in Frasers hands?
Were there any conditions on that lease to prevent property developers Wasps using it for anything other than sports?
