What is it , Wilsons first game with the first team in 6 months plus ?

Lets just take a moment to say job well done to a player that must be a bit rusty for match day experience of late.

Before kick off was really worried seeing him in the tunnel where he looked as nervous as Collins has done recently. He also had that bad touch early in the game, but from then on was excellent and played a big part in the team's victory.

The only mystery is why it’s taken so long to put him in. Worked out alright in the end but truly bizarre how long Collins was persisted with

Genuinely class today. Makes me less anxious about getting a goalie in the summer if we are in the championship

Clues in the post match interview with Frank, injury set him back and he has recently returned to better form in training.

Made me laugh when Boro tried to have that long range shot early on, clearly thinking they'd test Wilson, only to hit the first man.

Amazing what a difference a decent and confident keeper makes.

Fair play to him, made some good saves.

Ironically, his one lapse led directly to our second goal

I must admit I was a bit worried about him as he hadn’t played in ages , but you have to say he was brilliant today, I would say as good as he’s ever played for us

Didn't Lampard confirm in his interview that he'd only recently got back to 100% fitness?

He did say that, which would negate my criticism of him last week for persisting with Collins up to now.

It's not a mystery. Wilson had a bad injury and has not been fully fit. And don't say why was he on the bench then?

Lampard confirmed that whilst 'fit' it's only recently Wilson has told him he has 100% confidence in his injury he previously had

That wasn’t a lapse. it was a deliberate ploy to drag them out position.
They have been working on that for weeks.

Dodgy knee the last few weeks, apart from his first touch was brilliant today, not just the saves, never stopped talking , you could see the back 4 were more confident, what a day

Regardless of injury, if Brad doesn't chuck one in at the end last week, he'd have started today. As disappointed as I was last week, now looks a blessing as it could've cost us today.

felt A bit sorry for him today, reception Wilson got was class, sitting on the bench hearing wilson get that reception must of hurt, but he had his chance,

Won't lie, the early heavy touch he put in unnerved me!

But, after that, he was absolutely class. Good saves, quick off his line when he had to be, his kicking looked useful and caused a fair few problems for their defence. And more importantly, it seemed the defence had the confidence to trust him.

It was everything we needed from our keeper today.

Fair play lampard for tweaking the tactics to accommodate him too. Much less playing out from the back and full authority given to just fuck the ball up the pitch. Made for a lot less twitchy bum moments.

People say there’s not a great deal between Collins and Wilson but I can say with 100% certainty Collins wouldn’t have kept a clean sheet today

That’s the thing with Wilson. He has some luck or magic or good karma whatever as I alluded to in the match thread. The goal he scored vs Blackburn catapulted us to the playoffs last time. Today his saves/clearances kept us in the match and the one shot he didn’t was cleared away by Thomas and led to our second goal. Glad Binks wasn’t the defender there.

I thought the same thing but then Collins had his name sung and got fantastic support, even after the errors he made. I didn't think the fans would keep backing him like they did and im very glad to have been proven wrong.

Wilson made it clear in interviews that he's not been fit and has been training through pain.

Not as fit as the ITK's made out...
