The only people I see promoting disunity are those who decide their way is the only way, and others who disagree should be castigated.

What is your agenda in trying to disrupt a united message that Coventry should be in Coventry?

You don't have an agenda, yet this whole thread started from something which you have made up?

My agenda?

Similar, except I can guarantee that based on past track record, and based on behaviour of entities such as SISU, boycotting Northampton and starving them of cash is far far more likely to see our club die than have them sell. If they sell as a result of that it will be a very exceptional result, rather than the norm.

It appears however that that belief is enough to have some attempt to divide THEIR OWN FANS and try to turn fan against fan by alienating those who hold a differing belief in how to achieve a unity of purpose.

Me? I'm not going to Northampton myself until I see something beyond mere rhetoric about new grounds. But there is no way on God's earth I will have a go at those who feel going is the way to keep their and our club going.

As to be perfectly honest their approach is more likely to have that result than mine.

And it also appears that stating that particular view, that the club is more likely to die by people not giving the club cash, is enough to simplify me into a SHITSU apologist by some... which is very sad.

Have I? Seems some people think that anything that shows Sisus attempts to help their stupid groundshare in a bad light is made up. Why is that?

I have no problem with people who feel they have to go what I find strange is that people who want us to be united then take the opposite course of action.
If all the fans were united then we would either all go or none of us would. Thats what the word united means

So if you want unity of action, why not join them in Northampton?

You can have unity of message without unity of action.

And what would that message be? You can take my club out of my city and I'll carry on regardless?

Just start a rumour about Deleted member 5849 and use that to attack him with a big 'if it's true' caveat, that's a good tact.

Only if you want to put a skewed perspective on a message in order to split fans into warring groups.

As I understand it, SCG stands for Supporters Consultative Group and it meets with club representatives to give the supporters' point of view. How do they know what the supporters' point of view is? Do they hold meetings and take a vote? Do they have polls? I have never seen SCG meetings publicised nor been invited to one. How can they represent the average supporter? I'm not knocking the SCG, just wonder what their mandate is and who gave it to them.

The whole point of a focus group is the fact it's impractical to do such things as ask everybody, so you take a cross-section and ask them for their views, as that cross-section, and then extend the results.

It's a perfectly normal tool used to gain feedback.

Of course they're not all united there are some that wont go if Sisu are in control some that will go like yourself to Northampton and a lot more that wont. Who is right only time will tell.

Thanks, NW. Extending the views of a cross section sounds like the definition of 'extrapolation' as explained by my maths teacher Mr Brock. Guesswork. And the SCG being a 'focus group' sounds like that idiot Blair formed it.

This thread seems to typify our situation, & typify our fans' attitudes.
Diverse - which I am accepting of. I now wish everyone else would accept this similarly & stop slagging each other off or scoring points about "You said..." x,y or z
in the past.
Then perhaps we can all just happily (without fear of being ridiculed or slated) get on with whatever we believe is the right thing to do.
I personally have reached the stage where I am going to leave this forum as by the end of page 1...the posts seem to become a slanging/bitching/insulting/ridiculing exercise.

Who is represented on the SCG and how did these people get elected?
Does the lads who sit under the score board have a rep?
Does blocks 16 and 17 have one, disabled, over 60s?

Just want to find out who they are and who picked them to represent me and my family?
Do our views matter?

By the way I am in sorry was in block 16 and we deserve a rep............................

Oh by the way Steve he wouldn't dare offer you one might get stained when you give it back

Block 15 is represented, as are disabled fans, diamond club members, Vice Presidents club, jsb's, sky blue trust and more.

I've been on here 3 times before meetings asking for questions to take to the meetings and have have always posted the responses. That has coincided with all this shite so the last time wasn't as productive but the first time was really successful. Dan and Justin Tose went away and answered everything.

No-one was elected, the club started the SCG, I have no idea how people came to be on it but its a pretty decent cross section.

Has anyone been offered a free season ticket to the best of your knowledge?

I said in an earlier post, I has an idea about making matchday cards available for anyone to buy where games could be activated - basically to try and eliminate the need to go to the ground to collect tickets or have them posted. Like cup games are for season ticket holders. I was put in touch with the SCG by someone and they invited me to a meeting where I presented the idea. I've been around since then. That was wen joe Elliot was chairing it so maybe 4 years ago? Although there was a massive gap when we had all the changes. Only when Tim came on board did it really get going again.

As I said earlier, absolutely not. It's utter bollocks and I don't really know why anyone would suggest it. I know members of the group who have paid for their tickets. They wouldn't have done that if they were free.

All this thread has done is increase animosity amongst fans again. I don't really get why anyone would want to do that.

I come on here as a member of the SCG to try and get input from this forum because of its popularity. ive tried to get Nick involved in the SCG as well seeing as its his forum. but I always end up having to defend the group by people who seem intent on undermining it. Again, I don't really get why. I guess that's forums for ya.

So why are we still debating it if it never happened?

If they buy tickets I don't agree with them. You claim to love the club but put your own interests above it.

Short term gain long term pain.

However if they pay for it. That is their call.

I get why people would be upset if it is freebies.

However it's not

So why aren't you joining them,as you stated in an earlier post? Yet tell others they should if they want to show a united front. Very confusing.
