My friend (a Mackem pig ) sent me this…

Help raise £30000 to Help bring Adam home

If you can afford it, it would be nice to support the lad. It’s a very sad story and just makes you realise how it could happen to anyone.

Feel free to move Nick if it shouldn’t be in this bit!

Think the thread title needs changing as it doesn't matter who the poor lad supports. It's not about that.

Yep - donated yesterday. I was born near Perterlee.

Nick, maybe put on sticky for a while.

@Nick could you change the thread title to something more suitable "Sunderland lad" or something like that.

That’s fair mate, I have changed it upon recommendation! Apologies if anyone took my previous title in anything but jest.

No need to apologise. I wasn't offended or anything, just thought the thread title could be changed.

Thanks for highlighting as I would have missed this otherwise.

I was being a bit cheeky TBF. The daft buggers can't really react negatively though - can they?

Nice to see how many CCFC fans have donated.

Just shows when it comes to serious stuff, which football team you support doesn't really matter.

Just chucked a tenner at it. Had a lad that used to play football in my kids team and a lad I play cricket with that had something similar and its heartbreaking to see a youngster have to deal with it.

If it's still open at the end of the season I'll get Chicken McGraw to cough up for it when he loses his bet.

I hope you’re right but I’m very confident it will be my chosen charity receiving both astute’s @Lamps and your donations.

Think astute @Lamps said just giving pages can’t be used last year so might be worth checking first. I’m happy either way:

Referee

Robins said would be a soft penalty And? If he has seen a replay he isn't going to start bollocking the ref in a post match interview. It was on TV fella people have watched it back and seen it was clear pen. It seems the people on sky said it was a clear pen as well.

This is the response from the fundraising organiser.

To say we’re overwhelmed is an understatement, we’ve reached the £20,000 milestone in less than 3 weeks. We have been personally touched by the donations and messages coming in from football fans, not just Sunderland but amazingly from Coventry, Hartlepool and we’ve just had one from a Newcastle fan (Adam will think that’s hilarious). Thank you all so much and keep sharing 🫶 Together we can make a difference ⚫️

I'm wondering if we get a different reaction from them next time we play. Has surprised a fair few of them that we are actually human and have feelings.
