I don’t think he would suit a club looking to just survive in the division…he needs to be in teams that will see much more of the ball.

Weird analysis, you need players who can use the ball very well if you've got less of it. In any case I am not sure what you're saying is necessarily true, possession football has gone out of fashion.

I think more of a concern is he is a cracking Championship player who might make it in the PL, but would cost a lot. We already have a lot of good Championship players-what we need is PL experience. That or high potential players from abroad who come with a much lower price tag.

Not weird, I’ve said before I would prioritise physicality over technical attributes.

I'm not sure on this, we can't afford luxury type of players but technical footballers with great work rate and energy should be high on our list.

I agree, but in the centre of midfield ie the most physically demanding part of the pitch where you’re fighting for possession, I’d prioritise an athlete rather than a technician.

See the article I posted about Spurs for why that might not be the smartest move. Athletes are good at athletics and we are playing football. Giving the ball away every five seconds won’t do us any favours trying to stay up.

Spurs can't keep the ball despite spending about a billion pounds, basically

No I somewhat agree, constantly hear about how good he is but every time we’ve played them we’ve won the midfield battle.

In the other transfer thread I think. Hang on. Essence was they’ve scouted on physical attributes and brought in a load of players who can’t pass.

How bad analytics built a Tottenham team that might get relegated

Tottenham are really bad and looking at the way this team has been constructed, one thing clearly stands out: This team is really bad at passing the ball, and that may explain their present malaise.

Stated that they miss Maddison didn't it. Bring him home, Doug! Get that treatment table ready.

We definitely need to upgrade the physical attributes but we also need players with a good first touch and the ability to find their man. I suspect they won’t be the same players due to our budget so on a basic level an Onyeka and Hackney midfield might be the right balance.

I've given up trying to guess what this club will do. Maybe theres more money than we think.

He’s got the same haircut I had in the early 90s so, for that reason, I’m in.

I fully expect that Douglas will at least entertain selling some of his stake in the club for external investment. He has the resources to support us in the Championship for a certain amount of time, but the running costs in the Prem are another animal.

The more interesting thing in that article is that Rudi's shoulder has been so bad he hasn't been able to sleep some nights. He's clearly struggled a lot this season. I hope they get him into surgery asap now.

Agreed.
I previously commented on a thread about 'will doug sell up', that i want him to stay and to continue to run the club (he's done a great job so far), but that any outside investment would be every welcome.

No, but i think it's less that hes not very good, and more hes so overhyped. Hes a decent player, but the wanking off he gets everytime Boro are on Sky is way OTT! I also think the same for Jude Bellingham. Decent player that is WAAAAAAYYYYYYY overhyped!

For a team with a small budget it might be.
