A lot of it heavily depends on how good a season they have. If Walker bangs in 15+ goals for us next season he’d easily be worth £8-10m in the current market. Same with someone like Hamer, if he has an outstanding season for us then you could seem him be valued at anything up to around £10m. O’Hare would probably be looking at anywhere between £5-10m as well, but a lot of it depends on how we do and how strong our position is as a selling club in the summer. It sounds quite ruthless because we obviously all want the players to stick around for a bit and become part of the club but I’d imagine the likes of Hamer etc. will have been bought with the idea in mind that we use them for 12-18 months and then flip them for 4-5x what we paid.

I don't know. Depends what you call a good season. If we are up there because all our players adapt to the Championship and play like they did last year (Godden and Walker on 10-15, O'Hare and Hamer a class above, etc.) I can see some of those valuations being reasonable.

It depends on who wants him. Have said before that we should talk uo the value of our players. Sarr, relegated with Watford, being talked about as a £40m bench warmer for Liverpool. If Dabo plays this season like he did last his value would soar. Ditto Rose (as long as we get him tied down for longer) and one or two others. So, so important that we escaped from L1 last season. We would have been in real trouble had we been stuck there and our players would have been cherry picked.

Edit: huge difference between what their value is now versus a successful season behind them (or even by December)

Karlan Grant, 19 goals last season for Huddersfield. Talk of him going to West Brom for £16m. They turned down £15m in January for him.

He's young (22), but just shows what players with a decent record can be worth in this league. If we have a good year there's no reason some of our players couldn't be pushing £10m valuations.
