Everybody been crying out for ages that two 'sides' sit down and talk?

Isn't the primary focus the club back to the right city?

Isn't it fair to say that Anne Lucas is not a total idiot, and thus won't be conned utterly?

Therefore... what is wrong with the news that "Sisu boss Joy Seppala has written to council leader Ann Lucas this afternoon to agree to talks. The pair are now set to sit down for the first time together to try to thrash out an agreement to bring the club home to Coventry and the Ricoh Arena."

Surely this is good news?

There seem a fair few who are determined to point out the negative in a positive.

And it's bloody depressing.

It is a step in the right direction.

As previously discussed, the three statements made in the last few days don't suggest that the parties have "moved on".

But we live in hope (if not expectation).

Its hardly surprising considering all the negativity over the past 18 months

I am sure most on here agree any attempts to have dialogue that will resolve the issue and bring CCFC home is most certainly good news

Haven't seen much evidence of that really. Think that's more your mates on GMK making those accusations in fairness...absolutely obsessed with this forum and the"'mongs" that post on it. It is good news but some people are understandably cautious because of all the shite that both parties, particularly the owners have put us through. The dozen or so posters left on GMK who have been every bit as vociferous in their condemnation of ACL/CCC as the much larger cross section of fans have been on here in their anti SISU stance and in turn every bit as unbalanced are bound to slag off those here because their own views do not generally reflect those of the vast majority of Coventry fans. You are the only poster on there that warrants the self proclaimed 'forum of reason' tag....it is nothing of the sort. Such a shame as it was by far and away the best CCFC forum ever but a handful of completely blinkered posters killed it with their smug, biased, and sometimes extremely offensive comments and views.

I don't define myself by a forum, I define myself by myself.

Just wondering how many people can bring themselves to say 'yes it's good' and leave it at that.

In theory, this should be a lengthy thread of positivity, no?

I agree with you NW...most positive I've been about things for the last couple of months... but having just read Texasholdem's thread on GMK accusing this forum of being so negative and others weighing in to slag the posters on here off...including one saying there would be at least a dozen on here contemplating suicide at the news(!) just feel the analysis of fan's reactions to news that is hardly earth shattering at this stage is certainly a little premature and possibly a tad unfair..

I said words to that effect on another thread. You're just being selective - finding fault to fit your agenda. Bit sad.

Anyway this forum has twice the number that attend "home" games.

"a few not all posters on there."

I wouldn't say that's accusing a whole forum.

I'm also looking at who else has posted on that thread. If you read it regularly would you call the likes of brocco, fergynn renowned for their pro-SISU views?

It is good news as long as both of them go to negotiate a fair price for both sides. The bullshit needs to stop. Otherwise it is a waste of time. Joy now knows that CCC won't wait forever. But will she take it seriously?

No the council won't. Physcic Sally loves the place so much she's also bid for the freehold.

To be honest, all this situation needed was some common sense and a bit of humble pie to be had by people in all camps. Sadly to many agendas either driven by personal vendettas to lining pockets or furthering careers or even simple point scoring on forums. This meeting between the two of them has to be a good thing and with Ann Lucas saying the clock is ticking it will hopefully force the issue one way or the other rather than this limbo shite that we are in at the moment. We all want to be back at the Ricoh regardless of what one or two posters say and hopefully sense will prevail. If not and the worst comes to the worst and it goes the other way, at least it will be definitive and people can stop talking about the what, ifs and maybes. The one thing I do hope is that at these talks, it is mainly the two of them without all the baggage that usually comes to these sit downs and someone locks that buffoon Fisher in a toilet for a few hours.

Sally is the regular turn at the Ricoh. They should build a roof and she can do concerts there all year round. No one else is interested are they?

Sally's back in town next April - if we are back by then we may have to change the fixture date.

Seriously, can you see why people get the hump with you. Change the fucking record will you. You get a decent thread with people who are known to have differing views agreeing that this meeting (hopefully it goes ahead) seems to be a good thing even though some show caution, yet you still spout shit. Do you not get bored ?

It i sgood news that SISU will at long last sit down and talk. BUT.....

They (SISU) need to change, if they do agree on a fair, 'market value price', whatever that might be. I still do not trust them, nothing they have done in the last 3 years am I happy with. Sold/ allowed good players to go, got us religated due to lack of investment, not filled accounts on time, tool us away from Coventry for a very poor logic that I for one cannot understand, (Pie sales and car parking from 2000 people over the loss of sales and shirts to another 6000+?) They need to be open/ engaging and make me feel that I as a supporter am important to them (CCFC) and not just my £s. Also any deal needs to be open to pulic scrutiny, after all CCC are a public body so none of this 'undisclosed' crap.
I was concerned to hear that SISU would appiont an 'independant' company to place a value! they did say that CCC could do the same and then they would try and find common ground.
Why only be interested in the free hold? Why be interested at all if they are so far down the route of buy land and getting planning permission etc etc. Maybe not everything they have told us has been the whole truth. Supprise supprise!
CCC do the deal if it is right, for CCFC and the people of Coventry, but if there is anything amiss, walk away.

Or just a diplomatic gesture on both sides, with no hope of a settlement, as both sides agendas are totally opposite, in my unbiased opinion, I would advise.."Keep your guard up Anne, Don't let the Bitch trap you"

Totally agree.......This is a positive step forward. Sisu own the club and are going nowhere so if all the fans want Cov back at the Ricoh it will be with Sisu and nobody else, just except it!

Tbh Captain, although more balanced than most on GMK, you are smug about here and get wrapped up in their negative obsession, I can recall you bragging about getting banned on here with a different username for instance. So you are a bit over pious I'm afraid.

On this news, if the prospect is Sisu acquiring the Ricoh, which seems to be all they are prepared to talk about, I can't get positive about that. They are a scummy bunch and most all of us want them gone, now I would get excited about that.

Smug, I like that ;-)

Not bragging, merely informing. Could in fact be an acknowledgement of fallibility.

Whilst recognising that talks are good I cannot accept that sisu owning the Ricoh would be good for CCFC,(who
incidently are my only concern). CCFC WOULD NOT OWN the stadium which would be used solely to offset sisu's
investors debt. Sisu may sell CCFC but retain ownership of the Stadium and could still hold CCFC to ransom with
their rental demands.

So while talk's are a start they will only be good if they result in Sisu's departure.

who in their right mind would buy the club without the stadium knowing they'd have to rent off and deal with sisu. Seems to me some people want the club to stay where they are.
