No. Though I'd imagine it's his sort of thing.

The police have a very difficult job with mass crowds in these situations. It’s a potential terrorist hotspot and with people getting injured with overspill of crowds. They’ll be all be on duty for hours and it’s hardly much fun.

The last thing the need is some twat who thinks he’s being edgy shouting his mouth off which in itself can inflame the crowd.

If he wants to make a stand surely he should confront the courts by himself and plead his case.

Should it be a crime to make anti monarchy comments in public?

That’s not an offence so if that’s the charge it’s not even a crime

Almost Like it isn’t about free speech just the freedom to be racist without consequence.

yes as it’s a breach of public order and likely to cause an affray. If the crowd started attacking him should they have stood and watched him get a kick in?

So you should arrest people to save them from assault?!
You're arguing that gobbling off is a more serious offence than assaulting someone.

Then protect people’s right to protest or in some cases just state facts, don’t arrest them.

Would be good to see him get arrested.

his actions were provocative and if no police were there he’d be whining afterwards they weren’t protecting him - what was he protesting about out of interest?

A journalist held up a blank placard to see what would happen and sure enough the police came and talked to him.
