I think everything should be shut down out of respect, like a lockdown for a week while the BBC beams pictures of a sex offender looking sad out to the country. Pure respect.

Apparently completely devastated and flocking to Buckingham Palace, plus the usual "I'm more upset than you" people on the TV.

The people upset about being people pretending to be upset are starting to give them a run for their money in the sanctimony stakes.

"To keep us up to date with the period of national mourning".

She still dead? Yeah! Shall we have another pint and then go and roll her face up and stick it up our hooters? Yeah, fuck it, it's what she would have wanted.

When I saw the ‘our entertainment’ comment all I thought of was, I wonder if strip joints are still going today ? Not sure I’d feel quite right shoving a note with the queens face on down some girls knickers. Just wouldn’t feel appropriate today

FA announced all grassroots footy across the UK off this weekend. No disrespect but my under 15s team barely know who the queen is and certainly no idea who Bonnie King Charlie is! At least the rugger buggers get a run out....!

When measuring this against the history of the situation this country, indeed the World has found itself in ,then for comparison the state of Ukraine I can't help but find it all absurd and self indulgent .
It's all about maintaining some archaic mystique.

Must be something about Sundays - I guess it being a 'holy' day. I think if the 10th day fell on a Sunday (depends if you count yesterday or today as Day 1), then the funeral would revert to Monday.

Yesterday was D0. D+10 is Sunday 18th, so my understanding is that the funeral will be on Monday 19th (when i actually AM on holiday in two countries of the Commonwealth, and will be sad to miss it). Not much appears to be running in line with Operation London Bridge plans currently. Today should have been Proclamation Day but that is now tomorrow.
