This shows how the club is being run...players doing what they want when they want. No wonder the players are so forthcoming in the press with their praise for the management....they don't want someone coming in and putting a boot up their arses, do they....cushy number for the likes of Bell and Baker with their 4 year contracts producing mediocrity week in, week out.

He should have nominated someone before the match. assuming the choice was the best available then there is no problem even if it was missed. Leaving it to chance, that is lack of leadership.

Sheff has a very good score ratio when it comes to pens. Should have been him. He was in the side that was selected, Clingan wasn't.

Lack of leadership again, this kind of thing shouldn't even be getting discussed by us, If Harrison had anything about him he'd of told the players how it was, If Clingan went against his word he should have dragged him straight back off, if you can't follow the most simple of instructions you don't deserve to be earning a living as a footballer.

So City are supposed to control the players diet between football seasons? And watch what they eat 24/7 between seasons?

Don't the players have a responsibility to return for pre-season training in reasonable shape? Not just at City but every other club?

Its not City's fault if Eastwood decided to eat all the pies in the summer. He should know better, he's a professional football player, about time he acted like one.

Of course he should.

Heard of many cases though where clubs fine players for not returning back to training at a set given target weight. They see the guy on a dialy basis, it should have beeen identified and addressed sooner.

Mainly down to him though of course.

I think it is a muddier situation than that. Clingan is the captain, he knew it was an important penalty. Perhaps he was greedy enough to go for the goal bonus, perhaps he had the hubris to believe he'd be the hero. But it's also possible that he felt it was a big responsibility and his duty as captain to step up.

Whatever the reasons, he missed and we lost 2-0. If Sheff really wanted it, he should've been assertive and taken the ball himself.

Clingan was totally unproffesional in even considering to take that penalty. In all all my years involved in football I have never EVER know a player that has been on the pitch for seconds and not even touched the ball to take a spot kick.

In my opinion Clingan was greedy, self centered and looking for a way back in the side by attempting to get his name on the score sheet. In a nutshell it was all about Clingan.

I have never considered him a player that influences games enough and I wouldn't bat an eye lid when he goes at the end of the season.

1. Leicester were 1-0 up inside the first 15 minutes - this now convinces me beyond doubt that the Steve harrison / AT combo are to blame for our league position. How can you say your team is doing well but be losing inside the first 15 minutes???? Deluded. That's like getting on great with your wife, but she's sleeping with other people.

2. What is it the players are supposed to be learning? If its re-occurring and you've stated that you've already told them - surely it it means you're not very good at helping people develop through training and coaching them?

I believe my first post on this forum was to describe thorn and Harrison as the laurel and hardy of football management. A pair of clowns that will condemn us to relegation. They are clowns and I'm still struggling to see the funny side.

My understanding from earlier in the season was if the penalty taker (ie Jukebox) kept putting them away he continued as taker until he missed one. Sheffers has not missed one recently so he should have continued as the penalty taker. Looks as if Clingan pulled rank to get his name on the score sheet. Great example of team first from the Captain (like hell!).

Harrison is not to blame for a missed penalty, in fact he isn't to blame for yesterdays defeat. FFS once they cross that white line there's f#ck all he can do. We have inferiour players to Leicester City and a defeat was always on. How does a manager or coach legistrate for that joke second goal. We have poor players from top to bottom. We are having a bit of a surge with our home form, still playing crap but scraping results, that must continue starting Tuesday night.

Yes you cannot blame individual coaches for 1 defeat anyway unless there are specific tactical howlers (blackpool) but the continued failings away from home will inevitably turn up the heat.
Also the view that Leicester are an invincible force is a bit silly when you look at the league position and the fact that 2 of the worse teams in this league have beaten them this season.
No one expects us to win against any one away from home why would you but defeat after defeat increases pressure and adds to the frustration.

If only we had sold Juke, Clingan and Craine in the summer, in my eyes all 3 should have gone in the summer with the freed wages and keeping big Ben our season could have been a whole lot different and probably better than worse! Then again Thorn would have been buying the "right" players that apparently he needs to fit into the squad....

The low confidence no self belief left in the squad of players who in my eyes aren't as bad as people make out shows how missed managed the team and the club is as a whole, what we will never no is what some one else would have done with the same group of players and as Thorn and Harrison are still in charge we will never no!

I agree however they would have still sold turner regardless, this would not have freed money up as it's only a drop in the ocean in respect to our debts.
