What a star the scorer of the fourth goal was.

nice to see the hapless Sunderland relegated again probably our fault that time as well.

My favourite was his curler against Liverpool to make it 4-0 in 83

The greatest of escapes surely. And the Liverpool win was crazy. The players they had compared to our Aldi purchases and we tonked them.

I think he was just trying to cheer me up as I was only about ten.

Yes what a day.

I remember running on the pitch like a man possessed...........

Then again not a lot changed there

I was there that day and it has brought back good memories.A full house as usual which has now become the norm on big match days. But looking to the day when we have a packed out stadium on the day we actually win something !

Was there also, someone broke their leg when they fell through a skylight in the mayhem at the end. Great day, the Everton team was defo not the first team, they were already champions

That game seems like yesterday - it's the great finish by Micky Adams that I remember most clearly. Am I right in thinking that it was a very early kick-off - I seem to recall enjoying Sunday lunch far more than usual afterwards? btw "Pre-match entertainment" has changed a bit.
Macca - you're in a nostalgic mood today

I look back very fondly to that era of football generally. Look let's face it the quality wasn't on a par with today but I preferred the simplicity of everything else around it, a true working mans game, no frills.

But then got rid of Brazil and brought in Keith Houchen...silver linings and all that

(Went to Brazils pub in Ipswich in around 1994, and bizarrely not many pictures of him playing for Ipswich, Scotland, Man Utd, or Spurs, but plenty up playing for us...obviously a man of taste)
