The old Michael Doyle get to near the yellow card ban limit and miraculously don't get booked again until it's over

Fantastic news, really gave me a boost yesterday when i got told the news, really could not be letting him go on the cheap in the summer. He could play a big part next season.

Shows hes happy with where he is at for the fore seeable, as is the case with alot of better players.

The only blip in his game for me is that hes a fantastic finisher (side foots it with power where he wants) he doesnt do that enough. Theres potentially close to 10 goals a season in him hes that good i feel.

Really shows the team spirit. Also, the effect fans have on players.

He was brilliant and didn't deserve to be on the losing side.

Phenomenal player full stop.

Someone's gonna offer absolute stupid money for him this summer. Enjoy him.

Played great again Question: Is he better without Sheaf who I rate highly next to him.

Think it helped that Allen had an amazing game as well.

That breakaway from the Sheffield United corner in the first half was unbelievable. If only Hamer had buried it.

Is he the best central midfielder in the division? I can think of a lot of attacking midfielders who are well regarded, but in Gus' position, I don't think there's anyone who touches him at the moment.

Allen really kept his head well to make that one-two whilst running full tilt

I think he's great and kind of different, but no, certainly not the best central midfielder in the division.

No of course not, still has many flaws, but if he can keep up the level of the last few performances he might become part of the conversation in the near future.

For me his level the last 6 games has been very high, which puts him in that conversation. Be interested to hear who you think he's behind?

Yes, been much, much better of late for sure. Hopefully that's the level to come now he's a bit more settled with new contract etc.

Top midfield players in my eyes (different strengths) are the likes of O'Brien, Bielik, Billing, Rothwell, Berge but he's not far off if he can cut down the errors.

He’s been sold every transfer window! Don’t think another club have made a bid yet?

If only he'd scored that breakaway goal in the first half, would have been imo one of the goals of the season

Yeah fair, all very good players, though I would put him right in the mix there, personally. Bielik and Berge not done a huge amount this season either, though appreciate they have pedigree.

Especially when you consider Hamer, Sheaf, O'Hare and Gyokeres together cost less than £3million.

Would love Joe Rothwell alongside Hamer and O’Hare ahead of them would be a dream ticket for me, he’s available in the summer.
