He'll be lucky if West Brom want him never mind West Ham. He's an absolute disgrace to the shirt.

Our strikers were awful. If they have strengths play to them. In a game like that the two up front have to at least hold the ball up and when they're not getting "service" (easy to rely on that excuse )they were both toothless

Mentally Wright looks like he’s struggling to me. It would be doing him a favour to drop him and get his head back in the game. He’ll know his performances aren’t there and must surely be concerned himself with not scoring in 12 matches. Starts Simms until a better alternative seems appropriate.

What makes it harder for Wright, and why he draws so much criticism is his lack of contribution to the game.

If he isn’t scoring, he offers absolutely nothing.

When he scores, frustrating as his lack of wider play is, you can live with it as he’s getting chances and finishing them. When he doesn’t score, and fluffs chances like his absolutely wild shot today, his lack of all round play is more obvious.

I’ve been like that for so long and it boils down to it for me that after three years is it now I’m still not convinced by him, when he’s on it and he’s scoring goals and he has a hot streak, but when he ain’t scoring he’s not contributing much else to the team.

Take what we can and get him gone.

The one in the side netting just summed him up.

Does this include Simms who took his goal really well?

If we make it over the line we need a whole new set of forwards.

If we don't make it over the line then same.

It's really time Simms got an extended run in the team ahead of Haji now.

You can forgive not scoring but his application is consistently awful.

You’ve called it spot on. To be at the top level (like we want to be) you have to be consistent. Wright is ridiculously hot and cold and when he’s cold, he really offers nothing at all.

Our club record signing and he doesn’t offer any work rate when his finishing isn’t there.

Should not have been dropped when Wright came back. Big oversight by Frank. Was bang in form

Maybe he impresses Frank in training, but ultimately it’s what you do in games. I think we have 2 bang average forwards, but I’d go with Simms for now.

That’s the problem I don’t think he is concerned at not scoring, all players lose form but the good ones fight to regain form, but wright don’t have any fight in him .

I wonder if he just presumes he’ll start. I’m worried Lampard may have made a commitment to him that he should not have.

i still think he is in the team as we are mid contract negotiations. difficult to convince him that "he's the boy" when he's being dropped. so i just wish he'll either sign up, or fuck off. either is fine for me at the moment. but it needs resolving.

We’ve got to back Wright. He’s proven in this league to deliver goals we’ve historically lacked. He’s good enough, it’s fact.

We are ultimately top of the league by 8 points .. the fact we are here slandering haji wright because we cant handle a handful of below par results probably says more about us as fans tbh

He should have scored today i agree , but he didnt and we move on

Sure , he had an injury inbetween though .. but yes hes out if form however half the people in here will be wanking him off again if he hits form , which is inevitable at some point

I think he was poor today, but he certainly wasn't alone in that and was not as bad as many on here are making out. In my opinion anyway.

Hes proven to regularly have 3 month dry spells.
And to go missing when hes needed

If theres serious interest, then we should be thinking of taking any reasonable offer and bringing in someone who plays like they actually give a fuck.
