Much prefer the one we saw today. He looked up for it as soon as he came on and put himself about.

Should have had a pen too.

A different player today. Ran, fought, harassed and chased back: excellent from him. And deservedly scored

That Leicester defender had a devious way of thwarting our attackers twice using his head and shoulders to bring them down including Haji.

Had an excellent impact, really put himself about. I’d have liked him to stay on his feet and just score rather than look for the pen but he caused them issues.

I think they will all drift into some form now. Away vs Norwich and QPR they will get some freedom and plenty of chances I think. We've really got to stop a) hitting the post b) not being given stonewall penalties.

Used his physicality but more than that he actually wanted it. Hopefully see more of that game in game out from now on

It's good Simms got a goal to keep competition high. But I thought Simms was anonymous bar that so hopefully wright is raring to go if called upon

Simms may well have been anonymous before he scored but when the other 3 forwards consistently fail to cross or pass the ball anywhere near him for 44 minutes you really can’t expect anything else.

Haji was good against a tiring, open defence. Harsh on Simms to get taken off as game opened up.
We got very few decent crosses over today and despite getting MOM I thought EMC was frustrating today, after being great for us recently.

Can people please stop posting on the other thread about Wright. The OP is simply disrespectful. If you think players, friends and family don't see this stuff your an idiot - some people don't deserve the team we have this year.

I’d start Wright although it would feel a tad harsh on Simms.

The Wright of yesterday in that cameo is the Wright who is the best striker in the league. I want to see if he can replicate that over 60 mins on Tuesday.

Seen posts elsewhere saying he looked off in his interview and celebration. I'm not surprised. All the shite posted about him online I'm amazed he didn't stand in the centre circle and put his finger to his lips.

He looked moody to me yesterday, seemed to not look at the crowd whilst celebrating and when he came over with EMC it looked pretty forced. Id hope he doesnt read the drivel online, he should focus on how his name has been sung in the stadium throughout this barren spell, the proper fans have and have had his back.

Absolutely none of that takes away from his performance, if he plays that he can flip us off every week for all i care. He bullied people, caused panic at the back and generally looked like he was at his best again.

He will come good as I think a couple others will.

He has the biggest opportunity in his life to get into the America squad before the World Cup. I genuinely would hate if he didn’t get called up for it but it’s up to him to force his way in

I'd keep playing Simms. You can't turn it on for 20 mins and take a player who's been playing like that consistently, scoring consistently shirt. I like Wright I think he's a great player but his Cameo yesterday served as a reminder he can play at a different level but doesn't often enough. I didn't like the whole not celebrating thing yesterday either. If I had broken a real dry spell the relief alone would make the celebration passionate. This whole sulky looks to a fan base that sings his name week in week out doesn't wash with me. If/when Simms form drops off Wright can start again.

I've an observation : Haji gets a fair number of through balls but recently he seldom scores from them.

Many of these fails are because he is either fouled or falls looking for a penalty (insert your interpretation here). But the others occur when he's through, the keeper closes him down and he shoots straight at the keeper. There was another example yesterday.

Someone should show him how to dink the ball over the keeper.

I think the chance he had yesterday would have been extremely difficult to convert, especially not with a chip. I agree generally though, hes put a few at the keeper but then again so did Gyokeres, he just got/made enough chances to keep scoring.

Thats the problem tho they havent been singing his name. More like constantly abusing him online and demanding he be sold. Its exactly attitudes like yours that make him 'sulky'

They literally sing his name every time he comes on and has a chance. I don't agree with the abuse online and think people need to do better but if he is reading it my advice is stop, don't go looking for it.
