It’s been in the pipeline for a while. As I’ve mentioned previously, agents will be doing tjeor utmost to get players moves this summer. It will be the busiest transfer window for a long time

Not bothered by this to be honest. We know he's leaving so hoping that the club doesn't limit his options too much as he looks elsewhere isn neither a surprise or a slap in the face

Do you think the club are likely to accept around £15m?

Vik is right about the price being asked for him is too high but that is the prerogative of the selling club however the club must be well aware that the balance of power will go to the player the longer this goes on.

Post letters out. Or the interested clubs can queue down the ticket office. Not open tomorrow though.

True, but the point here is that Saddlebrains seems to be actually wishing it on him. I'd like him to succeed wherever he goes.

Him going to Sporting would be a good thing for us in the long run, even if it’s a smaller fee up front. Would imagine he’ll do very well there and the chance of him being sold on for a big fee is much higher than if he was to go to West Ham or Newcastle.

Wish him all the best, and not particularly arsed about his comments. He didn’t need to stay in January but did and got us to the play-offs. Best player I’ve ever seen play for us.

Long gone are the days of loyalty in football. Vik’s been sensational for both us and himself over the last two seasons. The only slim chance we had of keeping hold of him was by getting promoted. Hopefully this transfer is sorted out asap, so we can concentrate on our rebuilding process and Vik gets the transfer he desires. Thanks for the memories Vik, it’s been a pleasure watching you!

Such a shame he worded it like that, the club have helped him develop, worked hard with him. Fair enough he wants to leave for a new challenge, but don’t come out and tell the press that and try and push the price down to get the move

inevitable but shitty comments from Vik. If he is not careful relations will turn sour. He was a nobody 2 years ago and now he’s a £20M striker.

Appreiciate his efforts and would preferred he stayed but for the money we’d likely get a striker with a better shot to goal ratio and yes I’m being salty but it’s true!

Keane was a done deal with Inter (as long as they were impressed with his Premier Lg performances) the moment we signed him.
They did after all put up half the 6 million signing fee.

Without Gyokeres over the last two seasons we’d have been at best below mid table and above the relegation zone. Anyone criticising him is a moron

Is it too high? He's proven himself for 2 seasons in the championship and is an international footballer, Watkins went for £30m after 1 good season. Jarred Bowen went for £22m after 2 good seasons in the championship, Maddison £20m after 1 good season at Norwich, Maupay £20m after 2 good seasons at Brentford, Adam Webster a centre back £20m after 1 good season in the championship, etc.

Why should we let the best striker in the championship go for less than that just because he wants to leave??

I don't have a problem with what he's said, it's only natural really if he feels it might block a move. He hasn't ever implied anything other than he's going this summer if we don't go up so just don't get the hysteria.

If I remember rightly it was between us and Forest for his signature. We weren’t prepared to pay more than 1 million and Forest paid just over that to get his signature.

A lot of interested clubs by all accounts but only Sporting seem to have made a bid so far, Vik has worked his socks off to build a career that was stagnating at Brighton, the club took a chance on him when no one else would, both parties deserve to do well out of this move but it needs resolving soon, the longer it drags on the more chance there is of bad feeling setting in, it's always disappointing to read players you've loved watching say they want to move on but the club will also be pushing this I think, it's needed for us to build squad depth, reading between the lines I think Vik is saying he would have more options if we were asking for a bit less, Sporting may not be his first choice, I just hope we don't end up with a Diaz situation.

Good luck to him, he's been brilliant for us and was always going to move on if the right opportunity arose. I doubt anyone really thought he'd stay beyond this season? We should get a decent fee regardless and I'm sure Robins has replacements in line depending on the fee. I'd love it if we could hold Hamer though and build around him ... how's our luck?

You can ask but unless you have a buyer at that price it’s too high.
Vik is not English so he won’t have that premium on his fee.
What I think is not relevant but let’s see how much we get for him.

No hard feelings towards the bloke obviously driven to develop and get better, but not a fan of this interview, always gave his all though and cant fault him for that best of luck to him we all knew he was going anyways plus Hamer’s our best player anyways he’s more consistent

Your starting position has to be to try and get the highest price possible for him, it doesn't mean you will but if you don't ask you don't get.

He has been brilliant over the last two years but no doubt he owes a lot to the club with MR and AV showing faith in him and bending the style to suit. The interview shows a huge lack of class and some immaturity to me. If I was MR I'd be on the blower telling him to reign it in before he gets himself a fine.
