He scored 2 goals in a minute on his debut for Sporting as they won their opener 3-2 at home.

Lisbon is one of my favourite cities and a trip to see Vik would be nice.
Of the 12 clubs definitely in Europa league group stages, there are three English teams alongside Sporting.
West Ham, Liverpool and ....
Brighton.
I'm sure Vik would enjoy playing Brighton!

Yeah he got man of the match, but it could have been so different had he not scored one of them when he had two team mates in clear space, but decided to turn inside two defenders and take the shot himself. I guess the line between hero and villain is a thin one.

Looks like we did extremely well out of this deal... I've just seen Akpom is being linked with a move to Ajax for £10m...

“A package worth”

so £2.50 plus some cash when he wins the Mars super league. No thanks. You have the money, put it where your mouth is.
Im not trying to bring you up for anything other than to say this transfer really was the biggest thing to happen to this club in this regards and I believe despite people over/ undervaluing the player , we had no idea did we really as supporters.
We'd constantly sold our best assets for less than what they were worth and many of us just didnt believe we'd ever have a player worth so much money , especially one we paid so little for .

What did we make in the end ? Between 25 and 30 million or so ?

Crazy , what a player though

I think, personally, the time to get the very best out of Vik is now, with him entering his ‘biological peak’, which is generally between 28 and 32 for a male.

He could easily be a golden boot winner and give Arsenal that shove they need to win the title.

I think he'll find premier league defences far harder to crack that Portugese league defences. I hope he does well, but talk of golden boots is very premature.

We got the details pretty quick didn’t we? I think €20m up front was great business. IURC was ready for a Sisu special.

I know it's only one game but he scored a hat-trick in the CL against Man City this last season. I'm pretty sure had we beat Luton and he stayed, we'd all have thought he was capable of 10-20 goals in the EPL

I'm just enjoying following his career at this point and I doubted he would work so well at Sporting and he proved that wrong. One thing that I think is hard for statisticians to measure or spot is his mentality - he's clearly so ambitious and determined, that should never really be an issue for him. I really like Simms but it's a night and day difference. This will stand him in good stead because it's not an easy road ahead - it will undoubtedly be another huge step up for him.

Added into that mentality is his physique and physicality / durability - he wants to play every minute of every game, his head doesn't drop and he never stops trying.

I remember him missing a couple.fo.oens for us , but I think I read somewhere he has taken 23 pens for Sporting & scored all 23.

His style of play will scare the life out of them.
