Ironically, I think the team that Vik would suit best in the premiership is Brighton. He seems tailor made for the way they play

It won’t be all about that though if we go up. If he has one good season with us in the Prem his stock only increases more. We could probably price most clubs out of a move too for the first season for sure.

Promotion with us offers him progression in the best league whilst remain the talisman and a large pay increase. It’s a win-win.

Going to West Ham, Wolves or Palace represents a potential risk to him.

There’s always a chance they’ve got a buy back clause.

It’d hardly be a risk from his point of view, he’d be on more money and playing with better please . He may see it as a chance he’d never get again.

How would we be able to price other clubs out of a move? That’d only work if he signed a new contract with us.

An awful lot of premiership clubs and Europe clubs will be watching gyokeres over the next two or three possible games.

These will be Gyokeres biggest games of his career and will be watching closely if he is the real deal in big games. Can he perform when the pressures right on?

Over to Gyokeres I guess…

I would love to keep him, but also don’t mind if he goes as long as we get a decent fee, £25m+. Too many times over the SISU years we let players run down their contracts and go for free. If we had been clever and sold them, we would’ve been in a much better financial position right now.

Would love to keep him at Coventry, but i think he's similar in a way to Ostigard, ie he's an ambitious (and serious) guy.
He could well be tempted by a European move (mostly likely Germany), which would be less than ideal for us, in that he can talk to foreign clubs with 6 months of his contract left.
It is imperative that we get a fee for him, and i just hope he is decent enough to not leave us on a Bosman freebie (although that is his right)

I don’t think Gyokeres has that scarcity mindset of ‘this is my last chance’. He’s 24 and still developing as a player.

The playing with better players works both ways. It’ll be harder to break into these teams and in bad spells, may not remain in the team.

He gets the same opportunity in a settled system where he’s the star player if we get promoted. If he plays well for us, he’ll be an established Prem player and his value increases. Which will earn him more than joining as a top end Championship player. There will be question marks about being able to make the jump up until he actually plays in the Prem.

He’ll sign a contract if we get promoted - it’s a v high probability. Even if he doesn’t, we’re in a position to ask for a heftier fee than if we don’t go up (obviously).

One thing's for sure about the likes of Hamer and Gyo - they are not lacking in confidence.

I'm expecting some great things over the next 3 games.

Imagine having this conversation even at the start of this season and talking about 25 million + for Gyo.

It shows how much both Gyo and the team have progressed to be in this position even to be mentioning these kind of numbers.

I agree. If Gyokeres wants the best possible move how better can the next couple of games be to show case this?

Gyokeres needs to be ruthless as possible when he gets half a chance.

Bang, bang, bang every chance and we win as a club and his name is in lights.

He can’t lose IF he performs.

Keeps being linked with West Ham but I have serious doubts David Moyes will be their manager next season, but I suppose he could end up somewhere else in this weird PL set-up.

The number of interim and under-pressure managers in the bottom half of the PL certainly makes any move for Gyokeres a bit more complicated.

In my opinion he needs another year at Championship level. But if he stays here he then goes on a free.

So I am resigned to losing him and hope the competition for him pushes his fee up to 25m. We could do with him finding his scoring boots in the two games v Middlesbrough.

That would be a turn up going up and him signing for Leicester to spearhead their championship promotion

Vik is 24 and my opinion doesn't need to stay in championship. His time is now.

If we go up he would be best off staying with us. He wants to show how good he is on the big stage. At least with us he knows everyone and is loved by the supporters. One of first names on the teamsheet.

Why would he want to leave for a club about the same level (depending on new players and who stays) and start all over again?
Agree with this. There is no real benefit to his development unless he plays every week. So if we get up it’s a no brainer with us.

2 20 goal seasons at 24 and being a fully fledged international, usually means your ready for the premier league.

as I said earlier - the career advice is awful and tinted.

You won’t stop speculation but there’s no point in discussing any until we know what’s happening and that hopefully is the 27th.

He was a fully fledged Swedish international at Brighton and couldn't get in their first team

9 of his 13 international caps have been whilst playing for us - the other 4 appearances were intermittent.

As I said - he’s clearly too good for this league - 2 20 goal seasons and this season has 21 goals and 10 assists.

his finishing possibly needs honing in - but you’re burying your head in the sand if you don’t think he’s ready to step up

One cap doesn’t make him fully fledged - he didn’t consistently get called up until last year
