"ARON GUNNARSSON is unlikely to sign a new deal with Coventry City, reports claim today. The Icelandic international is out of contract in the summer and will be able to leave the Sky Blues for free.
BBC Coventry and Warwickshirereports that the vastly improved contract on the table at the Ricoh Arena will not be signed, which will see the end of Gunnarsson's spell at the club.
However it is believed that Gary McSheffrey will sign a new deal to extend his second spell as a Coventry City player."

Think this is bad news for us- losing Westwood and Gunnarson with little or no money to show for it leaves holes in the team that won't be easy to fill without dosh. Getting a touch concerned about next season.

Yeh feeling a bit worried as well that we don't seem to be doing much in the transfer market to replace these key players.

It's no secret he has't signed, Ranson even stated on Saturday that he's not signed. It'll be a shame to see him go, he's been having a fab season, but I just hope we get someone to replace him

Don't think he can do much better then CCFC at the moment to be honest, not have a big wage and be in the first 11 week in week out anyway, one or the other maybe.

is it down to him though? before it was said he is leaving it down to his greedy bloody agent. hope he re-signs as hes a real grafter and always gives it his all. it will be another blow as it looks as if westy is goin in the summer to. whats most worrying is we dont have the cash to replace one of them really let alone both.

Apparently since Gunnar is under 23 we'll get some sort of compensation for him leaving, but no idea if it'll be enough to replace either of them. I seem to remember reading somewhere that his contract is largely being sorted by his agent (but it may have been on 606 so i'm not sure how much we can read into that ha).

It is all agents talk I think.

I sort of know where Gunnar lives on the Jock Estate so might pop round and ask him!

When i met him at the signing in the club shop he said that his family all live over here now, so i'd imagine moving back abroad might not be favourable to him? That's just speculation on my part though.
