I remember going to Gillingham for an evening cup game in the 90's. What a dump! What made it worse was, there were four of us (big lads!) all squashed into a Fiat Cinquecento - about the size of a very small Mini. I was in the back (last to be picked up), with knees up to me chin, and to make matters worse the driver took the wrong turn going back home and we ended up heading south again on the M25. If I remember, we only held them to a draw as well? What a night! Got back home at about 4am!

Yes - I was there...cold, wind, rain, sun or whatever...it was simply a dreadful & depressing place to go to &stand in - regardless of the result.
Was that the day the pitch was white with frost and everywhere was like an ice rink.....Bloody freezing....but good fish n chips!

The last few years of holidaying in the lower leagues has been great for racking up the numbers of forgettable places visited:
Doncaster - near the Keepmoat there are some streets near the ground where have the street has been demolished and people are still living in the other half. Some bloke advertised a pub on here or GMK, I'm led to believe it was a complete and utter hole. He made it sound quite idyllic to be fair to him.

Blackpool League cup open terrace behind the goal the end was actually condemmed the whole of the Irish Sea fell on us
I remember we had to get some black bin bags to keep dry.then there was Bolton stuck in the corner could only see one corner because of the shop that was built over the away terrace and it was freezing.

Then there was the time we went to West Ham listening to cds instead of the radio all the way there then found the game was called off.
went to the Brentford game and stood in the rain supporting Mansfield because Killer was in there side freeing 0-0 game and no roof on the temporary away stand.

Two regular lads would struggle to share a seat TBFFor me, it's got to be Selhurst Park. Feels like you're caged in, seats are way too small for two fat lads to sit down on, stewards are way too protective to let two fat lads stand up without agro, and the place reeks of stale urine. Plus last time I went I had to drive down from Derby, so had to endure this whilst sober. And it was my birthday - drew 1-1.
I think I remember that game! Is that the one where Telfer scored to make it 2-2? I went to the return leg and we lost 1 nil at HR and it was absolutely freezing

Went to a pub in London many years ago when I couldn't make it to Highfield Road for a Monday sky game. I was in North London after a late finishing off site meeting and just went into the first pub I could find showing the game. It had a sticky floor but Importantly the game was on with the sound off and about 15 minutes in there was the sound of breaking glass behind me which turned out to have been a pint glass. Yes someone had thrown it at someone else who was wielding a pool queue, and I left very shortly afterwards.
