I honestly believe that Grimes would not look out of place in any premier league team for what he does. His movements to receive the ball and his use of the ball are exceptional. I realise that I have started taking his ability for granted. He seems so calm as a captain too.
He has been a fundamental signing to our success and I cannot think of a player that has made an instant impact like he has.
Is it totally out of the question for him to receive an England call up?

I’m not going to do a laughing face….

but if you had the choice now would you pick Grimes or Hamer? slightly different players and I get that, but I’d say arguably Grimes has had a much bigger influence and is a far more important player…..

having said that, if we signed Hamer next season if we do go up, that’s not a bad midfield pairing

Not saying he should start ahead of Rice but worthy of squad inclusion.

Hamer needs to fall in love with football again instead of too many takeaways

I genuinely think he regrets leaving us, and maybe that ship has sailed but who knows

Thing is with the Hamer comparison - we had the best version of him already. I don’t think he’s close to that good right now and I’m also not convinced he’ll ever get back there whereas Grimes looks like he is right at the top of his game.

Fuck England, they’re shite anyway.

I agree , the fact he used to come back and watch us so much only backs that up but he is in a really poor state condition wise currently

…and the possibility of playing league one next season won’t motivate him to get his shit together, which is a shame because he’s such a talent on his day

Yes, because he has already fully committed to the Amish

For them he will be playing right back into the 18th century.

Grimes is a great player. But there players like Declan Rice for example who are just as good on the ball controlling play and dictating play. But are Bigger stronger and much quicker. Simple as that.

Thats all no disrespect to Grimes.

Just to compare him to £150m player is compliment.

Grimes is outstanding in the Championship but my concern is that he has no pace and that will be a big problem in the PL.
