As I said earlier in the thread, had City been at the Ricoh I would have been watching the City vs Walsall last night and not sitting at home watching England on the telly.

Very true, but wasn't this a rearranged game? So technically we would have been able to watch both.

More bad news for Fisher.

im not doubting your dedication to cov otis, just saying you must be country over club if you prefer world cup to cov promotion.

Like the penal colony idea, but I will stay on football (ish):

1. Promotion with as many local/acadamy players as possible
2. Another promotion (rest as above) - copy Southampton in other words
3. FA Cup - one of the best days of my life (so far) - put our club on the map
4. League cup - remember missing out in the semi's twice, particulalry the first when I was 15
5. Ireland get another run at the World Cup as per 1990 - what a buzz there was over the water
6. Kettering Town get back in the conference where they belong. Used to watch them when I couldn't get to Cov - great fans, great club (see their recent history and compare - both clubs went into admin on the same day - touch me, I'm lucky)
7. Sunderland fans grow a brain (a colletive one will do) and lose some of that misplaced bitterness towards us - pathetic bunch
8. David Beckham goes bald

Thank you Santa!

I guess my answer to that is that it depends on the question. The ultimate for me in winning things, then it would be England. Because if England won something it would either be the Euro's or the World Cup.

If ever City and England play on the same night, it would be the City with my recording the England game. If it were a major England game, then I think I would plump for England.

But yes, I would take England winning the World Cup over City winning something every single time.

I am just very passionate about my country and support all things English in any sport, even if it is a sport I detest.

Would be a dream come true to see the City win something or gain promotion, but I just think England winning the World Cup would be just someting fantasical and on such a huge sacle, the whole country would be uplifted and energised.

The ultimate.

For me pre SISU I agree

% my interest would be expressed as: club 99.9%, country 0.1%.

Since the move to Northampton
% my interest would be expressed as: club 25.0%, country 0.1%. German / other football 74.9

Once we are back home
my interest would be expressed as:club 99.9%, country 0.1%

Sorry you may already know this OTIS but England winning the world cup is only a dream and very unlikely!

I think we all know that.

I would genuinely rather we won the JPT than England the WC. It would be one thing witnessing 10s of thousands of people coming out of the woodwork pretending to be lifelong fans and trying to justify why they should get a Wembley ticket, but quite another to suffer the millions of dickheads that have never seen a game in their lives and have no idea what the offside rule is, wanking themselves silly over a bunch of multi-millionaire thick chav twats in a kit that is a rip off of fucking West Germany's.

Not to mention those fucking stupid St Georges cross flags attached to car windows, with ENGLAND written on them springing up everywhere. How fucking stupid a nation are we that we have to write the name of our country on our flag ffs?
