Really good win today, especially considering the injury problems we have.

It's easy for people to be annoyed at our performances at the moment, especially v Port Vale, and say that MR needs to be getting better results.

But I think given our injury problems he and the team can't be expected to do much better.

Jones
Andreu
Kelly
McDonald
Vincenti

All absent today, with Willis, Beavon and Duck going off injured.

It doesn't matter what team you are in what league, your performances/results will drop off with that many injuries. And not just any injuries either - Jones, Andreu, Kelly and McDonald are four of our best 5 or 6 players.

I agree. Despite frustrations we should be proud of ehat this team has done in first half of season

Now we nees to avoid the usual slump. A few new loanees could really make a big difference imo

Barrett baker a winger and maybe a cm and we are good to go. Although bayliss emergence has been very welcome and alao means less pressure on stevenson

I wasn't sure on Baker, but now I am beginning to think he might well be worth the punt.

Yep. Experienced, knows the club inside out, the manager knows him really well, it is now League Two he will be playing in, so a division down on when he was last here and he does get goals.

He also seems deadly keen to come.

Is McDonald injured then ? Yesterday was a good and much needed result hopefully Robins can bring in atleast a couple more to strengthen a promotion push think we all know where we need strengthening just hope MR is able to achieve that

Another fan who cant see what a player gives us. His excellent ball set up the 2nd goal against wycombe when he was very good til his injury. You probably still think mcnulty is useless too.

Oh give it a break! He’s done sod all all season. One pass and he’s the dogs in your eyes?

He’s useless and unfortunately fans like you accepting the tripe served up by him is very sad.

Remember Baker in his last spell used to run around a lot give the ball away in stupid places which on numerous occasions cost us goals... couldn't fault his effort but making him captain was a stupid idea... still like him though

Carrying an injury, but his wife gave birth to a baby.

Think he will probably play tomorrow.

I had this conversation with someone who hates him as I think he does a lot of decent stuff that goes unnoticed. It’s a bit late now as he’ll be out for a while but I got the lad to watch him a bit more closely and count the number of positive things he did the number of mistakes and negative things he did. Unsurprisingly he changed his mind on him after a couple of games.

I was the same with Stephen Hunt and Darius Henderson. How did that work out again?

Yep. He's had some bad games, but then who hasn't out of our squad, but he has also shown some positive stuff too and there's been a couple of games where he has played really well.

I think it is wrong to say he has done sod all and I do think we will miss him (well I did, but obviously all now depends on the transfer market).

True, but we can't just assume every player of such ilk is going to automatically be a failure can we?

Just two points off autos, Lincoln play Luton and Notts County next two fixtures, now only 6 points off second place, 3 wins out of 4 last games yet some are still moaning ! We are doing ok - could be better, but progress is being made.

Never really been a Baker fan. On his day a good player but showed it all too infrequently. I understand he is injured, anyone know how far off fitness he is?

He is a free agent so may as well wait until he proves his fitness. I know people say he was ever present at Portsmouth but that was last season. He hasn't played at all this season and he is at that age when that initial yard of pace or reaction time deserts players. We have signed too many players just past their sell by date.

Who said about pinning hopes?

It's just about whether he can do a job for us or not.

No-one is expecting him to come in and be Lionel Messi are they?

In reality I’m just looking forward to be able to have a Carl Baker day to celebrate again. It’s been too long since the last one.

even with these injuries we still have a very good squad:

Goalkeepers: Burge, O'Brien
Full-back's: Grimmer, Kelly-Evans, Haynes, Stokes
Centre backs: Willis, McDonald (small knock should be fine for tomorrow), Davies, Hyam
Central midfielder's: Doyle, Bayliss, Stevenson
Attacking midfielder's: Kelly-Evans, Shipley, Barrett (when he joins on Tuesday)
Strikers: McNulty, Nazon, Beavon, Biamou, Ponticelli

We need at least one striker and one winger to add to that. Especially if Nazon goes back

Could maybe even throw
Andy Webster
Marcus Tudguy
Clive Platt
James McPake
Sheffers (2nd spell)

onto that list. All the same, all "older/experienced" players here to help the younger players!
I'm not against baker coming and I'm not for a minute suggesting he'll be added to my list of crocks in 6 months time, I'm also not gonna pin our hopes of promotion on a nearly 40 year old player who was let go by his last team for injury before he'd even kicked a ball

I thought he looked decent until Reda got injured. Once he wasn't playing with him it was clearly obvious who carried who in that relationship. He then looked bang average until the end of the season when ha was playing at LB instead of CH and he looked steady there. Stokes should of got injured earlier to accommodate Ricketts

Im guessing you are a haynes fan? He made 1 good cross once and is treated like roberto carlos by some. I think vincenti is good and he has clearly been made this years scapegoat. Now he is injured its biamous turn.
