Anyone notice these ?

Great scheme to try and get bums on seats...

....................

Hundreds of families from across Coventry will get the opportunity to watch the Sky Blues live, many for the first time, thanks to a new community project.

The club have joined forces with Coventry City Council and Coventry Sports Foundation to launch a City Families scheme, which is being piloted against Carlisle today.

The schools which have been targeted for this pilot are: Aldermoor Farm, Ernesford Grange (primary and secondary), Sowe Valley, St Anne’s, St Barts, Willenhall, All Saints, Howes, Gosford Park, Stretton, Whitley Abbey (primary and secondary), Baginton Fields, Alice Stevens and Blue Coat.

Up to 500 tickets for the game have been donated by the Sky Blues, which will form part of the whole experience on the day. Families will first take part in a range of fun activities at CSF’s Alan Higgs Centre in Allard Way – such as face painting, arts and crafts along with bouncy castles.

This experience will be sold through schools for £5 per person, of which money raised will go into the One Goal fund and help to deliver further opportunities.
The idea behind the CityFamilies scheme is to raise aspirations and also to increase opportunities to take part in sporting and educational activities.

Steve Waggott, development director of Coventry City, said: “One Goal has really taken off over the summer. We only launched it in July and already over a thousand people have had the chance to take part in activities thanks to the project.

“As a club, we have to make sure we are at the heart of the community and schemes such as this really do highlight the positive role we can play in people’s lives”

Good idea. They need to promote the club to people who live locally. My son's school in Warwick never hears anything from the Club regarding similar schemes, so they are sensibly targeting schools in Coventry. The next generation of fans and all that.

I find this encouraging that ccfc are trying to promote the club. It all goes towards a better and secure future. But perhaps they should give it a couple if weeks when (hopefully) the football will be better and we start winning!

Good idea but they need to put this on hold until we look able to win a few otherwise it'll put the kids off for life
