after keeping my opinions to myself im sorry to say it but it looks like we are proper cannon fodder this season. I just cant see us stayig up. we say it every season, you cant sell your best players and progress unless you replace them at least like for like. The problem for us this season is the bookies usually have us at 33-1 to 50s to win the league, this season you can get 200-1 and in some places 300-1.
of course we were not going to win the league even if our best players hadnt been sold, the question now is how many games are we able to win.

I said this last season, ... all the other teams have progressed while we remain in a timewarp. I see us finishing the season plumb bottom.

who have we got to score goals? Juke? dnt make me laugh, unless he does a Turner and turns out surprisingly beefed up after a season off building his muscle up he will be a flop, 8 to 10 goals at the most.

Midfielders? clingan is tipped to go , if he doesnt we have got Macsheffry, where is it he plays, wing , forward , midfield... im not sure he knows. i dont. lets face it he shows for 50 per cent of games. forget the rest of midfield.

leaving defence and goal, Murphy will settle in nicely but he a risk, the other keepers? well lets just say we hope murphy remains fit.

Sorry to be so negative but i just can not see how we can defend against most of the teams in the league, which is now a really good league. cant see the goals coming unless we sign at least 2 strikers, and cant see the middle being a tight unit which is key to this league.

we are in the shite my freinds. The only good thing about this season is it will end.

i want to add, we are going to face a battering against leicester on saturday, theyre looking for 4 or 5 nil, and when the takeover does happen, Ranson and his merry team of bandits will sack Thorn, expect that by end of October. Second bottom by xmas, then a run of 4 or 5 wins to give us hope of staying up ... then the annual drop to down the league.

8 wins
10 draws
rest losses

hello league 2

Yes, cos this hasn't been said continuously for the past few weeks! Your second post says it most for me, forming "opinions" based on media "experts"! Give me a break, most of them haven't got a clue. People can say all they want that we're going down, we may do, but absolutely no one knows what's going to happen during the season. I might actually form an opinion of my own after 15 games, until then I'm keeping open minded on how my team will do this season.

I have to agree, i don't see any positives atm in our team. Yes the youngsters coming through are promising but that will not help us this year!

Why the youngsters won't help you mean? Because i don't think they are good enough yet to have an impact. All the reports on here have stated them to be, among other things, 'raw', not strong enough and lacking in certain abilities. Someone commented on a winger not being able to shoot or cross the ball?! The youth will be important in years to come, but they shouldn't form the basis of your team in their first season of playing in the first team!

Thanks Il Pirata, I nearly burst out laughing in the middle of an office then!

At present we are only missing 1 first team player that hasn't been replaced from last season; a goalscorer.
Keeper was suitably replaced by Murphy (as mentioned somewhere else, we have been spoiled in the keeper department for the last few seasons.)
Gunnarson is not a big loss and Deegan has looked good (prior to injury ofc. :facepalm

I know Juke and Clingan may well go before next Saturday, but they haven't yet and, if we're really after £3m for Juke I can't see him going.

'Experts' also under-rate Andy Thorn, he's got us playing a style of footie the players enjoy and will hopefully create more chances = more goals than Boothroyd's style.

We are ofc. short on squad depth but, at worst, I think we'll be 20th this season...
Draws will save us

I'm not a fan of that quote, get's far too much use in the wrong context. They were not 'kids' at the time. They were all 20 years of age or older, not kids in my book. Ours are genuinely kids, 17/18 year olds, not god enough or experienced enough.

They wouldn't be the basis on which we play though, would they. There are experienced players in there and Thorn would know not to put so much pressure on the youngsters. You're going on peoples reports on here, which for one are subjective for that person and two, were just friendlys they were watching. Also, we don't play wingers, people should really know this by now. These comments seem very general - "a winger can't shoot or cross the ball" - was this all the time as is as it sounds or did they they just do it once or twice and somebody jumps on their back? I don't think you can measure the ability of a player until they are playing consistently week in, week out in competetive games. Just my opinion AND, if Thorn thinks a player is good enough and plays them then I would trust his judgement over mine, yours or any other City supporter who hasn't managed a professional team!

Do you realy think we've got a group coming through that will rival the Neville's, Butt, Scholes, Beckham etc?!?!

I remember the last time we relied on the kids - we went the second half of the season with 1 win. Good times!

That was an exceptional bunch of kids tho, and if i remember rightly they were a bit more experienced than our kids.

Yes procdoc, he was an utter nightmare! He was negative when there was no reason to be-the analysis just wasn't coherent. I'd say the same about the OP; "Sammy is tipped to go", Lukas is rubbish, and "forget the rest of the midfield" being prime examples of tosh. Even worse-Ranson to sack AT? They're close mates! Ranson hired him, and not only that but made an impassioned speech telling the fans to back him before his first game becasue we'd be in for a pleasant surprise. Hoffman said that yonks ago he'd discussed the idea with RR of him being Director of Football with AT as team manager. You're comments are very badly thought out Howzer, and I don't think you support CCFC. Hinckley, eh? Hmmm. Leicester fan methinks?

Whilst I'm just as negative in general, I can think of much better reasons than those given!

Let's keep it on topic.

This isn't the CET forum so no point bringing arguments over to here. You will get the same chance as everybody else, if you start being a tool then we will just ban you.

Actually, I think the bookies are quite often wrong with these sorts of bets. That's why people take the price at the beginning of the season because they nearly always change for the worse as the seasons goes on.

Slightly off topic, infact i've forgot what the topic is, but i've had a word with the main man above and he assures me that we will tonk Leicester 3-1, if that comes under tonkings, and come saturday night on this forum it will be like party night, with all of us predicting who we think will get the second automatic promotion place behind us.
Trust me he never lets me down.
