I know there's a lot of history there, but after watching last nights performance I concluded we need a coach with experience, someone who commands respect in the game and someone who is a motivator. Not necessarily much more.

In many way's I can't help but think Strachan fits the bill.....

I don't understand all the negative shite surrounding Strachan. I had some of my best times supporting City with him in charge, 3-1 at Liverpool in the cup, 4-0 at the Villa and the Moldovan Moment in the cup, he had a personailty and his teams always put the effort in, not like this latest team. He also signed George Boateng who I thought was great when he was with us and is right up there with Wallace, Hutch and Dublin as my favourite all time players.

I hated that man by the time he left us. I will never accept him back at this club! :jerkit: I will NEVER forgive him. I'd rather have Peter Reid back! And THAT'S saying something!

He was young and cynical and enthusiastic 95 - 2001, 11 years on older possibly wiser, less enthusiastic and even more cynical a recipe for disaster and for that reason ~I am out.

PS anyone who saw KON Lee Hughees (£5million) and Julian Joachim - his last 3 additions - would understand why he should never be allowed back.

But I bet you like everyone else at the time were well pleased when we signed both them up to get out the Championship. If you say you weren't you either weren't there or are telling porkys.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure Strachan quit as manager of Southampton after he led them to the F.A.Cup Final? If not, I'm almost certain he wasn't relegated with them.

For what it's worth I liked Strachan for the majority of his time here, my only issue with him was his insistence on playing Shaw and Williams over Breen and Konjic. We definitely new a motivator, and someone who would get 100% out of the players, and Strachan would get that at least.

We could and probably will do a lot worse than Strachen.

What Perry said. I don't particularly want him back, but our next manager will be considerably worse than him.
We jumped on him far too quickly when we got relegated from the Prem. After the win at Stockport so many people just expected to rock up and turn teams over. Doesn't always work like that does it. 11 years on and we still haven't learnt that lesson.

What is wrong with you people. Gordon Strachan gave us the best team we have ever had. And nicknamed the entertainers by sky. Nothing else matters

Maupet ...I would disagree with the best team we have ever had ...in my life time, the 78 and 87 teams were better

Hi skybluesam. Thats fair enough but what a great team Strach put together then had it ripped from him when robbie keane and macca went

That entertaining best-team got us relegated along with their manager.

Darn it! Sorry, WEG. I'll always bite at the mention of Richardson and Strachan. No sense of humour, me.
