Looking at their fixtures they have to play Doncaster, Forest, Bristol, Millwall, Peterborough and Ipswich.

Any City fan ever prayed for a Leshtur victory in any match ever?

I was very torn between them and Norwich in the Cup this month-very tough call for me (the ex is a Norwich fan) In general though, anyone who 'hates' a football team has a bit of growing up to do-dislike sure, but hate? Hardly the word I'd use for what goes around on our and their forums.

I don't hate them.

Do want them to lose every match though.

I remember watching us lose 2-1 at home to Stoke in that 2007/8 season. Leicester were home to Sheff Weds on the same day, and had they beat Wednesday it would've guaranteed safety for both of us-still didn't stop all the fans around us cheering the Wednesday goals as they came in. If Leicester getting promoted indirectly ensured us safety, believe me I'd take it.

Well yes, there's the dilemma. :thinking about:
:thinking about:

Maybe they can win all these games and then go into administration.

If Svennis had stuck around to spunk more millions on dross like Matt Mills, you may have got your wish.

Matt Mills was a top player at Reading.

Besides a 10 point deduction that will affect neither their nor our season, why would you want them to go into admin?

I'm struggling to believe this to be honest. Their fans who came here when they easily turned us over seemed to be under the impression he was... now, what was that song? Oh yes, 'f***ing useless'. He's been complete and utter dogshite from minute one of his time here. As I've previously said on an LCFC forum (not Foxestalk; the good one) he can't pass, either cannot or will not communicate, can't read the game, doesn't look where he's putting the ball, and is a petulant, arrogant, dirty player who fails to learn from his mistakes. He's no more or less than a competent, basic professional footballer, the standard of which can be found in the starting line up of any League Two club. Certainly not four million quid's worth of defender and absolutely not a captain. He will never, ever play in the Premier League unless by extraordinary good fortune. In short, he is shit.

Totally agree with the ferret.

There are few certainties in life:

3. In the lead up to to Cov-Leicester game a load dullards will feel the need to tell everyone they don't care and that it isn't a proper rivalry.

Two large one-team cities just 20 odd miles from each other - of course it will matter to some people because they will work with and live next door to fans of the other club. Not everyone will care, fine. But why not just let those of us who do give a toss have a bit banter without all the whining about what constitutes a proper football rivalry?

Does this really deserve 8 pages? You can tell the mental age of both sets of fans who laughingly refer to this game as a rivalry.
Can we not just rid ourselves of this sky sports style M69 Derby and go back to hating the teams we hated before we were relegated. This is just fecking embarrassing.

Just goes to show that this pathetic line can come from a Cov fan as much as a Leicester fan.

Just because you don't see it as a rivalry, doesn't mean anyone else who dares to see it differently is Laughable.
Very childish view.

As said before, a city about 20miles from Cov who have a football team playing in the same league as ours and it's not a rival ?
For me that is a rival, but if you don't then fine, but if others do then let it be and grow up FFS.

Not sure when I'll grow up enough to stop hating your team, hate in the football sense that is.

Football for the fans is surely more about pride and passion, your love for your team is with you for life, I love games like this but i'll be worried all he way till the final whistle.

Unless we spank you.

Hackney, I'm with you on that (apart from there's more chance of Elvis, Freddie Mercury and Kurt Cobain being found on a desert island than us spanking you)!

And from what blue maniac says.... PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE let Matt Mills be playing!

I suspect the difference is the capacity to learn and improve. Barnett evidently has it, Mills has shown he patently does not. He's all but admitted it. Even if Mills does go out on loan, the club he goes to will cotton on immediately and he'll be back with us at the end of the season, and we'll be stuck with him until his £55 million a week contract runs out in June 2059.

Honestly, I'll be astonished if he's even in the stadium on Saturday. What is clear is he and Pearson have had a falling out and Mills is in the cold. NP has, hopefully, worked out how depressingly crap he is. Morgan and St Ledger again please Nige.

He's been in Africa. Came off the bench at D**by last week for a cameo at right back. Did his usual trick of steaming up the pitch with the ball, leaving a massive hole at the back, before losing possession.

Much, much better than Mills strong, sensible, composed. Knows his limits. He's built like a tank and he eats opposition forwards. I wasn't that excited when we'd signed him, but he's settled pretty well.

Then surely somebody who doesn't see it as a rivalry is not laughable either? Its all about feelings isn't it? Individual feelings that is? I never really grew up with any feeling about Leicester it was a passionate anti Villa sentiment. I don't care about them now either because its kind of worn off with the lack of fixtures. I don't know or work with any Leicester fans so there is no banter and therefore no particular importance to it. I see you are in Inkleh so appreciate why it is different for you

You're from Hinckley so you have a massively biased view of this "rivalry", you probably thought this was a big game back in the 90's when nobody was even aware of Leicesters existence.

I read first half dozen pages of this thread out of interest and it all descended into tit for tat insults, so I jumped to the last page. has it settled down now? can we have a discussion about the match?

Local points scoring aside for a moment and I've no axe to find with Leicester. As already discussed both City's are of similar size, yet traditionally Leicester do tend to get larger attendances. I don't think this is any reflection on Leicester fans being *better* in any way or Cov's being worse. I can only think that this is more a reflection of the relative movement of the 2 sides up and down the leagues. Leicester for example have experienced a more *turbulent* recent history with plenty of movement. Although this means relegation it also means they have spent time at the top of some divisions. Perhaps generating excitement that attracts fans in the possibility of more to come . Coventry on the other hand have been more consistent, but have not had any league success in the past 40 or so yrs, and are currently the Leagues (all 92) worst performers in terms of relative league position for the last 40 yrs.

The words *long* and *suffering* are not over used here. I think given a similar history I would defy and group of supporters to react any differently to ours. In fact I'm amazed anyone still turns up at all.

Local: Belonging or relating to a particular area or neighbourhood, typically exclusively so.

Rival: A person or thing competing with another for the same objective or for superiority in the same field of activity.

You do the math!!!

Bigger rivals than villa?
The majority of away games this season there's been numerous anti-villa chants, even though we haven't played them in eleven years. It's rare that you hear an anti-Leicester chant now at any game, other than when we play them. Lots of people don't hate Leicester at the moment even though we're playing them twice a year, whilst the vast majority still detest a team we haven't played in 11 years. Yeah it's clearly a much bigger rivalry.
