I thought Moussa's goal against Port Vale would probably stand out to be our Goal of the season, but the skills and accuracy for his goal against L.O. I think make it number one. Thoughts?

You must be phsycic. I was thinking exactly that when I started the thread. We have scored a lot of "Clinical" goals this season without any real "Netbusters" Even Baker's goal against L.O. was more placed than power. It's good to see clear heads and adrenaline control in front of the net.

People have different views on what makes a superb goal

For me, the Fulham goal, could be tried time and time again and it fly wide or into the crowd. There was an element of fluke in it - Hit and hope if you will.

Moussa on Tuesday was pure skill the way he looked up picked his spot and dinked it.

That is exactly my point about Moussa's 2 goals. The Port Vale goal as spectacular as it was had to have at least a small amount of luck to go with all the accuracy & power.

With the Fulham goal look at his run in the build up, his first touch, then the shot...it was intended.

No it couldn't be replicated, but isn't that what makes a great goal?

But I also accept your analysis of Moussa's goal.

It's what football is about

When I look for a top goal I like to take into account how much control the player has of the ball in the run up and how much was intended / luck.

Peter Crouch's goal for Stoke last season is another one for me, 1st touch tee'd him up and hit and hope. 8/10 times its in the crowd and he's being slated.

Even Bakers goal was technically made some space, picked his spot and hit it.

Watch the video again, there is no way in this world that wasn't intended players backed off and the technique in the shot... no way it couldn't have been!!

Was mad to see in the ground cos it seemed to take forever to drop back down.

Out of the two LO for me, but if we're talking any goal then wilsheres against Norwich is probably the best team goal I've seen in many a year

Interestingly they were talking about it on the nii lamptey show and Baker said the players had asked moussa and he didn't mean it and he said it was a cross. Didn't hear the interview so can't confirm.

It looked like a shot at the goal, don't think anyone was near the 6 yd box. I would ignore Baker comments - must be a bit of rivalry going on??
