Think I saw hill83, but I’ve no idea what he looks like, so it might not have been him after all…

Turns out the disappointing show at the CBS a few weeks back wasn’t a one-off.

Absolutely banging set by Kellis on West Holts, wish I was there-like a hip-hop greatest hits!

Looks a ghastly place, full of middle class champagne socialists, paying £300 a ticket whilst pretending they care for the poor, not washing, queuing for toilets, overpriced food and drink, cheering Jeremy Corbyn and Greta Thunberg, then leaving the place looking like an environmental nightmare. Apparently morning yoga classes for the masses this year too.

Where's a stray Russian nuclear missile when you need one?
Or even the 'Bollocks to Glastonbury', festival? What happened to that?

Ouch, that's mean!

Essentially, they got a HUGE amount of goodwill due to the way they formed what with Kurt Cobain's suicide. Nirvana really were huge (and great). Nobody really expected anything from Dave, everyone thought bassist Krist would be the follow-up act. But Dave had been writing songs and eventually, reluctantly turned down the offer of joining Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to give his own stuff a go. The 1st album (the best by far IMO-don't think they played a thing off it tonight!) was awesome, and that was that. Second album was great, after that...went a bit metal for soccer-moms?

They also have a special bond with Glastonbury, playing it so often that I think I've seen them about 4-5 times over the years now. I remember in a World Cup year them having to pause to say that England had scored in the football! He gets extra-goodwill this year as drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away last year. New guy was very good.

Grohl was also on drums for a classic Queen's of the Stone Age Glastonbury set (a year I couldn't go due to work)-they were at their best when he was their drummer by far, "No One Knows" etc. Now if he turns up playing drums for them when they play later in the weekend, I will be super-upset that I didn't go. When you see him back on the drums, something he was one of the best in the world-at, wow-almost jazz-metal drumming. But Coldplay? They're more wuss-rock than Grunge-Legend.

I enjoyed the gig at the CBS but their newer stuff really doesn't translate well to arena or festival shows imo. Everyone in the crowd just stands about in silence waiting for the next song

One more vintage Queen's track to highlight how good Dave Grohl was as a drummer, especially 2:47 onwards:

A lot of comments from that set say they were the closest thing to Nirvana, that line up. Myself and a lot of my mates agreed! Kinks were another big influence on them, which is awesome for a 21st Century American rock group.

I used to do a lot of festivals in the 90s and gave up on Glastonbury after 1995 when i heard some pretentious pricks say they only went for the ‘vibe’. Definitely not the sort of people i wanted to associate with.

Seen them a few times, and always were excellent. They have a huge portfolio of great songs. I think they are brilliant. Best rock band around, and have been for 20+ years. But, it’s all about personal taste I guess.

It certainly looks a bit different to 1983 - not that I remember much about it

So, you haven’t been able to get tickets since 1995. Bad luck mate, but you don’t need to make excuses about missing the best festival of the lot for all that time….

They have many, many great songs in my opinion. They are not the force they once were I don't think, but they still have a great back catalogue.

Last went 2009, not sure I've got the energy for another one but I'd like to give it a go, hopefully could arrange for the local hospital to have a crash team on stand by.

They ought to have a field dedicated to just oldies who go. We could make sure there are defibrillators aplenty and first responders there.

This Indian village celebrates cow dung festival to mark end of Diwali

As Diwali comes to an end, residents of Gumatapura village, situated about 180 kms south of Bengaluru in Karnataka, celebrated the cow dung festival.

I’ve been here since Wednesday performing (stand up) and been wearing my Cov shirts whilst walking around… it’s amazing how many supporters of other clubs have come up to me saying they have a soft spot for Cov. Also seen a lot of other Cov shirts around What a festival btw

What type of comedy Harvey and how old are you?

I've always fancied a bash, not worried about dying on my arse and confident to stand up in front of others, but probably a bit long in the tooth to start now. Have a few ideas of some material but never tried to actually write anything and I think linking it is the harder part than getting a quick laugh.

Just watched a bit of Fred Again and he was class.

‘Put your loving arms around me’ gave me flashbacks to my youth.

Mostly observational and I’m 31. Started about 7/8 years ago as a hobby and thankfully now my full time job. If you have a niggling itch to do it then you definitely should, amazing buzz even if it just stays as a hobby. Feel free to DM and I’ll point you in the way of a few local places suitable for newbies. X

Thanks for reply and the offer. Will give it some thought and might take you upon that. Alternatively post your schedule on here and we should have a forum night out to come and watch you (with a discount, of course).

I'd have gone to see it if I was there-I'm quite enjoying it! Rick's a lovely bloke and this is his second set today, so I'll forgive the voice.
