IWhat I like about Robins is he sticks to his guns. Never changes a winning team unless theres injuries. A lot of fans were looking to drop Shipley and Westbrooke as soon as " higher league players" were available, but he knows the score. Even at 2-0 down he trusted the teams ethos, much like southgate with England. Dont change the way you play if you know it works

He wouldn't of changed a 'winning team'!!! We drew (from being a winning team) last time out.

Think it's clear to everyone O'Hare would have started if it hadn't been for the knock on Tuesday. He will defo start next week. Westbrooke was anonymous for much of today again. Shipley stepped up.

I’m not sure about that. I thought Westbrook’s was okay today.whilw I think that O’Hare will be a regular in the team eventually, I think Robins might stick with the midfield that started today for a while yet. Could be wrong though.

He’s the man. 2 wins at Wembley, promotion, one of the highest win percentages of any modern city manager. I hope idiots don’t get on his back when we have an inevitable sticky patch. PUSB

Those idiots get on his (and everyone else's) back the minute we go a goal down. Take a look at today's match thread.

There is a complete prat sat behind me who from minute 1 was calling for a change in formation to 4-4-2 and to bring Biamou on.
Firstly Biamou wasn’t even on the bench and secondly, 4-3-3 had got us to 4th in the league at kick off.
Granted we were 1-0 down at the time but come on....
We will win some, lose some, have a sticky spell, lose a last minute goal, score a last minute goal, ask why a sub wasn’t bought in sooner etc, but we fans have to realise this manager and his staff know what they are doing.
This season is our best chance to get back to the championship since we were relegated, and I include the Adam Armstrong season in that.

He's been here for 2.5 years, we've had plenty of sticky patches and we've continued to sing his name throughout. I wouldn't worry too much. The odd rant on Facebook means nothing. I'm not sure there is a manager in the lower leagues who has the sort of relationship Robins has with our fans. We're really hard on ourselves sometimes.

Most of our fans are f**king clueless.

Every week there's fans in the match threads on here slagging Robins off, saying he's clueless, no matter the score.

Let's not forget that there was a thread as recently as Jan/Feb calling for Robins to be sacked. Just utterly ridiculous.

Sorry, but it is.

Some people seem to exist in this weird virtual world. I like to think I know a lot of city fans, friends, family, colleagues, and not one has ever called for Robins to be sacked. Have you ever heard a 'Robins out' chant at a game? I haven't. Not once. He gets his name sung at every away game. How many sets of away fans do that to their manager? There are managers in the lower leagues who would love to have that kind of relationship with their supporters.

You seem to be confusing 'most city fans' with the odd hothead on the internet. It's not the real world.

You'll always get a handful, but it's never been more than a handful.

I didn't say it was a majority or even a handful.

I just said that there was a thread on here, around January/February time, that had a number of posters wanting Robins sacked.

That would be the thread 'Taxi for Robins'.... A quite ridiculous assumption that getting rid of MR would be the best step forward for ccfc. It was utter bollocks. I forget who the pratt is that started it.

Massive applause for Mark Robins. I thought he would make changes, McCallum had two tough games v Watford and Oxford and thought he might come out the team for the newbie Watson but manager showed confidence in him and the kid played very well has to be a boost for the lad, manager also made right decision playing Mac at centre half he just marshals our defence together, MR also kept faith with our midfield two Westbrook and Shipley both of whom get unfair stick on here imo the two of them where superb quietly doing their jobs similarly with Jobello and Hiwula who for me is still not firing on all cylinders but again MR showed faith in them both and Jobello in particular repaid with a decent game and a goal can’t ask more than that.
As said lots of praise for Mark Robins today

Umm.....I've have heard on here from quite a few that Shipley isn't good enough, nor is Westbrooke, Hiwula needs to be dropped, Bakayoko is crap, Jobello isn't good enough, nor is McCallum.

Second in the league's not bad at all for such a shit side is it.

I really don’t understand this argument Otis?

I don’t think Westbrooke is good enough relative to the rest of our squad for a place in the starting 11. Same goes for Shipley. Nor Mcallum, but he’s 18 and he’s been thrown in and done okay. Good squad players for this level though. Bakayoko IS crap.

That doesn’t meant we are a shit side and that’s a really lazy argument that I dont even believe you think people are concluding.

There is always room for improvement especially when we seemingly (early days) have the potential in the squad to be up around the autos at the end of the season. So fans rightfully challenge and debate player selection.

Fucking he’ll it’d be a bit of a shit fans forum if everyone just had to smile and say I trust Mark Robins every time we aren’t performing to our potential. Imagine how boring the match threads would be.

People need to stop getting so offended by challenge

I didn’t start that one but I did start one when we had a wobble in the league two season and Robins flat out refused to change his 4-2-3-1 formation and it nearly cost us playoffs. I stand by all of the criticisms and concerns I highlighted, and his stubbornness and/or ability to react tactically still concerns me to this day but 1) it’s improved and 2) when plan A is working so well it’s a non issue!

Was it Will Smith who said there’s no need for plan b because it distracts from plan A.

Besides that his general running of the club has been fantastic I think and the recruitment has been the best in years. Shudder when I think of some of the shite that Presley and Mowbray signed

Isn't Watson a RB? I keep seeing some people say 'Watson to come in at LB' But i don't see why any manager would play someone out of position if you have a player who is highly rated that can play.

I can honestly say I have not heard anyone slagging the manager and the players this season at the games I've been to.

Obviously that doesn't mean it's not happening, and from some of the comments above it clearly has, but personally not heard it which is a refreshing change.

If that’s what you take from this season, I feel sorry for you.

We’ve had 2 great comebacks this season already. Portsmouth and Blackpool!

Robins is being rewarded for his faith in Shipley and Westbrook. Tinkering game-to-game doesn’t do anybody favours!

Robins got us promoted. Who is to say that if he had implemented the changes that you were asking for that we still would have gone up. Trusting the judgement of a man whose working life has been spent in football or a fan on the internet? I know who I would go with.
