I went up today, far more pleasant atmosphere than the football ( friendly, polite people) which was exactly why it wasn't quite the same!
One thing though which has changed my opinion. The Ricoh can have a buzz to it. It did today and probably 20k were joyriders like me. So imagine 20k passionate city fans getting up for it every week. We know the football is going to be shit for some time so let's just have some crack like the Germans do. Show which is the most important team in the city instead of whingeing from the armchair

To the city of course. I'm sure it has Nick I just don't remember. I just sat there today wishing all those people were watching a city home game, even 60% full would be good

Unfortunately, the majority on here do "get up there"

It's the 340,000 other Coventrians that need to get up there....

Well it's always been a minority of that 300k but even so 20k should be attainable. The question is how do we get those 28k people that were at Gillingham up there. What about the 20k non wasp fans today. It's not hugely expensive, not that hard to get to. Does it need to be more family friendly? Do we need to give free tickets away until we hook people in?

If you gave me a free match ticket. I'd happily buy merchandise at the ground or food/drink, so you'd get your revenue from that "free" ticket.

But hey, I'm not a marketing/PR person, so my opinions irrelevant

*Just to clarify, the match ticket is about 10% of the cost of a home game for me.

The issue is that the club wouldn't make anything from you spending there though

The only thing that will really work is a bit of success. Everything else is nice but you're not going to keep going if the product on the pitch is poor. If we were in the top 6 with 4 or 5 games to go and a shot at Wembley there would be 20K there easily. If we went up, and singed a couple of players to make it seem we were having a go, I reckon we'd be able to maintain good attendances. Same then applies, mount a genuine challenge in the championship and people would turn up. Then the first PL game would be a sell out with everyone on about how they've been going for years!

Am I the only one who doesn't get this rugby excitement? I'm not pro or anti wasps, I have no affinity with cov rugby either. I had no choice but to play it at school, but just find it boring pointless and I feel no passion. I even struggle to get excited if its England in the world cup other than a passing interest in the result if we beat France or Scotland. It seems that because city are crap everyone is interested all of a sudden. Even if only a fleeting interest, I've never read a thing about cov rugby until we were invaded by wasps. Perhaps im just a miserable fekker but I just dint get it. Bah humbug!

Pretty sure OSB did a post saying that we actually get less revenue now than we did through the last deal.

How does the club get merchandise revenue when we don't even have a club shop at the ground and an under stocked shop a couple of miles away, I'm sure it won't be long until the wasps have a fully stocked shop at the ricoh.

The product on the pitch at the moment is not worth the entrance fee..The lack of direction, ambition and investment from our owners will see us stuck in League 1 for many years..

Can't really disagree with this the product is awful so you could give away 1000's of tickets the people would still not come back after, the only bit we differ on is I think we will get out of this league with these owners through the trap door into league 2.

Pretty poor by the pests as that is probably the biggest crowd they will get and missed out selling a load of tweed clothes and general tat to the people who went today.

No I can't see what all the fuss is about it's a dreadful sport, I have no interest if England play in what they like to call the world cup although most of the world doesn't have a team, I have seen one game and got dragged along to that drunk. I had to play it at school for a bit only because when I refused they tried to stop me playing football and the head of PE also tried to stop me playing representative football, never mind once my dad had a chat with him it was decided that wouldn't be happening or I would have been moving schools. Most of the players at my school were the ones that didn't have the talent for the football team to had to pick the ball up.

I think that even at £10 we probably lost money. Assume 4k season tickets. This leaves 6·5k at a tenner. If we got 8k at normal prices we would have 4k paying much more. Better for the atmosphere but not for the club.

Take into account pitiful away support, Fleetwood bought about 80 fans where as Walsall bought about 600-700?

So we increased the match day tickets for home fans by about 3.4k to 6.5k, tbh even if it is less profitable I think its a hit SISU need to take if they ever want to try and rebuild the fanbase. It's still far more profitable than Sixfields, if we ever actually start playing good football competing at the top at that pricing structure we'd be pushing 20k.
At the current pricing, even if we were playing great football and competing at the top we'd still barely break 10k.
