Was watching with interest the way German football was handling the Coronavirus with the start behind closed doors next week – Basically the whole of Europe is watching particularly the premier league followed by our leagues ELF – For those still demanding the season playing out particularly the Peterborough chairman - Then maybe today’s news from Germany that the idea of starting next week has been thrown into chaos as 2 x Dresden players have unfortunately contacted the virus and the whole squad has been sent home to isolate for 14 days

Bundesliga: Dynamo Dresden's entire squad in isolation just a week before restart

I said before that it’s inevitable the same would happen here with the PL. The notion of treating an infected player like any other injured player would not work whatsoever.

I think a football re-start in June as proposed is doubtful will be interesting what comes out of tomorrows Premiership meeting, my money is still on ppg and likely to be no relegation.

When the FA set up the PL the EFL can enforce the relegation ruling and Parry says he’s enforcing it

Also being reported today that the clubs previously trying to win a vote to cancel relegation have abandoned it and are instead arguing against neutral grounds

We’re a couple of weeks behind the others so that we can gauge what’s likely to happen to us following suit. Brighton have 3 players out now. The premier league will be a mockery as clubs will be pulling out of games left right and centre with players testing positive here and there.
i have a feeling that the Germans will end up calling it all off despite their best efforts.

Let's face it, if PL clubs near the bottom feel they can engineer a situation where they can avoid relegation they will, with the money at stake. For example, Villa will do all and sundry to cancel the season if it means staying up, yet by the same token they will do all and sundry to continue playing if cancelling the season meant relegation. People will vote with self interest, not what is the fairest method. Will be glad when all this is over. Obviously want/deserve promotion, but more important is the survival of our club. Clubs who have loads of players out of contract at the end of the season (e.g. B;lackpool) may find themselves less vulnerable financially in the short term. A lot of those players will be twiddling their thumbs for a while, potentially.

But we do have to wait and see how that transpires over the coming weeks. Will infections etc happen?

Its only bundealiga 2 delayed isnt it? I thought it was something tondo with dreadens local authority?

Not sure a corona failed test means full isolation for other clubs

It’s a bit of a problem if a whole team is isolated though. The only way to ensure there wouldn’t be someone infected would be to keep squads in absolute isolation for the rest of the season.

I can't see them cancelling the restart.

They're stubborn and think they're the best at everything. It would be an embarrassment if it didn't restart with the whole world watching.

They wanted to take the lead on it and I expect they will still do that.

Yep, like a military camp on tour duty.

No one going home at night or immediate family members having to stay in the football “camp” until games completed.

It can be done, but not easily.

Relegation in the PL is key and reaches down to League 1 & 2 - without it all competition for promotion goes !

But all of those broad stroke statements apply to the UK as well. And the US. And probably most other places too.
