Can anyone suggest some where to park that is fairy close but does not include sitting for an hour to get out the car park like last year??

you could try elf avenue or goblin street.

there is industrial estate opposite the ground not far from kfc or burger king ,I parked up there last year <free> and got straight out and back in cov for 6
