You think telegram group with 15000 members was an elaborate set up joke?

I can't see it

I could make a telegram group with 15000 members within the hour.

If the police have gone just off that then it's madness. You would have thought there would be some serious surveillance going on before what they have done today.

I reckon it was the far right trying to get the far left together to kick off with the police so they could both sides it.

Maybe I've watched too many films but if I was going to arrange something I'd tell everybody it was 8pm in a list of areas and then wait until 2am everybody has gone home and go to different places.

I'm currently sat at home doing fuck all so if anything happens at 2am it's not me.

Did I say the far right you little prick?

I said it's funny that the police intelligence service, which is meant to be one of the best in the world, and national media have gone batshit over a clearly wind up 'list' of 100 places where there would be riots

And I don't need Overson mate il slap you myself

Considering we have had days of bad riots it's hardly clearly a fake list. Don't you think it makes sense to be prepared for the worst after everything that's happened last few days?

Oh and hahahaha

Back after a long time away lol. Deleted twitter but used this thread to keep tabs on trouble in cov which luckily there wasn't.

As others have said hope over worst of it now and I'm very happy police taking telegram hate communities seriously. Rather they turn up and everything ok than only responding once damage done

Anyone finding it hilarious deep down wanted the far right to get a W

I don't think there was any danger of it coming to cov,tbf with the history of it all,at least I hope so!

Like I was saying earlier though. Whilst I don't doubt there has been racist behaviour at hotels and the mosque in Southport. How many mosques have been attacked?

Somebody clearly said to the Muslim community that the edl were coming. Surely that's not just from a list on telegram?

In reality, the vast majority of the riots has been little gimps as opposed to para military type groups. Of course there have been plenty of horrible, racist people but it will be interesting to see how many are charged with racial things as opposed to being scummy little cunts.

(Again, I'm not saying there's been no racism because there clearly has)

Birmingham is full on "from the river to the sea".

Might be being cynical but maybe it was never about a far right protest there.

You? Cynical? Nah not having that.

My take is that there was nothing ‘planned’ and they were hoping to show that the good old ‘silent majority’ turned up in numbers at whichever was local. However, partly because of the arrests/sentences being announced, partly the very much publicised larger police presence, and partly because nothing happened yesterday (feel like there was a loss of momentum) there just wasn’t the numbers and interest.

The deployment of larger patrols tonight should be viewed essentially as an insurance policy and, whilst it might look a bit daft, it’s better to have them and not need them than not have them and need them.

Sky news saying "the number of far right protestors we have been told" haven't turned up.

How many were they expecting for riots? Be interesting to know what they "thought" was going to happen.

If they thought there was going to be tens of thousands across the country out for a riot, they would have seen chatter saying "abort, abort".

Looks like they misjudged the support !

This is needed though. The large majority of this country was disgusted with the riots, looting, threatening behaviour etc, even if many have their own concerns about immigration numbers. As long as nobody was hurt hopefully the message has been delivered

Yeah I don't quite understand what's wrong about a lot of people calling racists racist. Far better than just letting them get on with it, and far better than just kicking the shit out of them, however tempting that might be!

Rumour and hearsay. I know a few guys from Alum Rock and genuinely I wouldn’t put it past any of them to get in their heads that the EDL were going to come and knock on their door. Starts with “could you imagine if…” and ends in “we’ve got the EDL round for dinner at 8pm”.

Similar situation at Euro 2016, as it goes. Obviously you had the mad Russians attacking people with all sorts in Marseille but then, when I was over there, every time someone blinked “shit, it’s the Russians”.

this is it really isn't as anything of a mass event

the football
the number of arrests
the length of the sentences
the pissing rain in a number of places

that'll stop anything really
