I bet you will find that the vast majority of people with issues about immigration have no issue with people working in the NHS. Working and contributing, full stop.

It's just a go to argument about doctors, nurses and engineers.

Disagree.

I read the forums down here.

So very many think people coming over get anything they want. Hotel, good, clothes, benefits.

You only need to read what people are posting and what they are saying on the streets.

So many falsehoods.

All men coming over, don't care about their wives and children, all potential terrorists, all potential thieves and rapists, all just trying to get benefits and free NHS treatment.

You have to see it to believe it.

People are sold the lie.

That doesn't mean however, that there isn't a problem with immigration.

It needs a sensible discussion though, not a tarring and brushing of everyone coming to our shores on boats.

You wouldn't believe how many down here are saying we should just fire at the boats and let them all drown in the channel, women and children too.

Distressing scenes to be sure, but I feel there is genuine despair behind it all.

The rioters need to articulate what they are actually rioting about fairly quickly as they are already being dismissed as "far-right" thugs and racists by the MSM and the chronically insensitive.

This article possibly sums up a list of the legitimate grievances that many have: Britain is coming apart at the seams

Islam seems to be the de facto target, which really doesn't surprise me. I know there is no known connection to the Southport murders (yet), but the MO is a familiar one.

Previous generations have shed blood to keep Islam out of Europe. Yes, I am well aware that there are many decent Muslims, but collectively, they do have a habit of swamping any host countries that eventually become predominantly Islamic. Suffice to say this scares a lot of people.

There might be some genuine despair/helplessness from a small few (maybe those who’ve been desperately trying to get a job or on the housing ladder) but a very large majority of these rioters are just scumbags. There is no ‘aim’ or ‘goal’ in all this

If they had been targeting known hate preachers like choudary (before he was banged up) then maybe I could understand a bit more what they were up to but this is just mindless racism and clowns that just like smashing things up

They’re an embarrassment

People see blokes jump on a boat from France, turn up and get put into a hotel wth 3 meals a day and some spending money. Meanwhile there are people out working on minimum wage and struggling to put food on the table and pensioners scared to put the heating on.

Like I said, it really hit home to me when I went to a resort that was going to cost me about £150 - £200 a room, a night without food and the hotel was closed because it was housing immigrants. The entire place was a fucking shit hole, rubbish everywhere, graffiti, shopping trolleys, bikes, staff getting abused, people kicking off because they didn't like the food. Some of the staff said that parts of it were "no go zones" and only male staff could go there.

It is a million miles away from somebody coming over for a better life and being grateful and taking the opportunity for themselves and their kids. There are videos of people of all nationalities who say they love the UK because of the opportunities it has given them and their children.

The anger isn't aimed at people coming to the country and grafting to provide or give their kids a better life. (I have no doubt there are people that do, these will be the minority and cunts)

Yep, it's just random excuses to get pissed up and kick off. They aren't going to a mosque that is well known for pushing hate or grooming gangs, it's just random mosques.

Thick as fuck and has the opposite effect of what they claim to want.

There isn’t allowed to be a sensible discussion and that’s the problem.

You can see it on here. There is some kind of pseudo elitist snobbery that those who consider themselves tolerant know better.

Anyone opposing immigration is a racist, a Nazi, thick a gammon.

When 4 million vote for a party with no real structure or manifesto it should tell people something.

Some areas of the country are negatively impacted

The children with least education opportunities now are white low demographic children especially in neglected northern cities. That’s building hate and resentment for years to come and nothing and no one will address it.

How does that negate what I said?

People see blokes jump off a boat and into a hotel that would cost hundreds a night for people paying there where they are fed, heated and clothed.

They then compare it to people going to work and struggling to put food on the table, British people living on the streets or OAPS scared to put their heating on.

Also the "immigration" hotels are a symptom of an underfunded immigration system and the backlog it created.

And as said "illegal" immigrants get fuck all as they are the ones who aren't in the system.

What do you mean by "opposing immigration?"

All immigration? Obviously that's impossible.

I know of hardly anyone who is saying immigration is NOT a problem.

It's all about balance and controlling it.

We all know the Farage comment of it will be "just open the borders, let them all in", is total bollocks.

Yes, it does.

Go on the streets and do a vox poll, asking how much financial support people think these migrants are getting.

I bet you that not one person would say £9.58 a week in spending money.

So many think they are living the life of Riley .

So much misinformation out there and so much fake news.

Agree completely.

I don't know if this is organic or if someone is setting this up for whatever nefarious reasons - but the direction of travel is clearly in the direction of unrest eventually.

What should happen:

1. Strong clampdown on rioters, especially those who are attacking police, animals, mosques etc
2. Comittment to an actual open discussion on the real issues that many British people have about immigration

What will happen:
1. Strong clampdown as above
2. Vilifying those with genuine concerns as extremists and more hate crime/legislation passed to criminilise wrongthink

And it will just get worse.

We’ve had 40 years of free market trickle down and it hasn’t worked. People feel completely left behind and that has been used by nefarious actors to direct towards migrants.

Indeed.

You built a solid foundation from the bottom up. Make sure those at the bottom have more to spend and everyone wins. They can afford the basics of life and that money they spend creates demand allowing businesses to grow and therefore employ more people.

Far more money would 'seep up' than it ever will trickling down

I have said it's a problem. The numbers. We can't cope with the number of people coming in, so it does need better control. We can't be treating them all as pariahes though.

Some immigration is good.

An open border policy I think, would be a disaster.

Some want the borders closing completely.

There needs to be a sensible conversation and balance applied

Indeed it is a problem but what is the alternative? Having them roam the streets?

Maybe there could or should be a thing whereby the standard of accommodation goes down if you cause problems. Not sure where this would end as you'd probably have to set up some sort of camp which doesn't help with integration, but if you ended up there it's highly likely you won't be making a huge effort to integrate anyway.

Maybe they should have to 'staff' the hotels themselves. wash the bedding, cook the food etc.?
