I will concede that Bruce was a good but not great player (don't think that he was capped for England). However, unless Mr Bruce has been backed by cheque-book chairmen, then he has generally moved on to the highest bidder. Ince and Keane were good players, who have yet to prove anything in management of note.

Ince only seems to do well in the lower leagues!

Gary Neville has announced he will stay at Manchester United to complete his coaching badges and revealed he didn’t want to be “a passenger” in his former side’s title campaign this season.

A quote from Gary Neville after he retired so could be a possible candidate for the job?

Could be a bit of a gamble for both parties..

But we've tried the so-called name manager, tried the young up & coming manager & tried the player manager!!!

Sod it, Gary if you want to have a go you know where we are.

OK Gary, you can have the job, but only if you kidnap Scholes and Giggs for use in player/coaching roles!! Thanks

Wouldn't want Neville for anything other than his links at United. Think RR is taking a leaf out of Capello's book, keep dropping hints/ names to see the reaction of the fans first before appointing

This is the fabio Capello who has just re-appointed terry as England captain? Clouded judgement

Dhinsa is worth a lot more now than when he was touted as the next big thing at CCFC (try five or six times at least and lets not forget he was worth 60million back then!)

Apparently but only because he is from the City not much of a fan me thinks. A clever bloke so not somebody who would invest in footy Nick!

I would invest in a small club and get them promoted through the leagues

The more i think about it the more i think Neville will be a bad idea, we wnat the fans back not driving them away even further! I think Richard Shaw would be a great shout, Millwall have leaped above us since he was appointed there number 2!

I don't want any more managerial beginners at CCFC. It rarely works out, & if it does, then they'll be snapped up by a bigger club before they've had chance to really build anything anyway. Only one currently available candidate stands out for me, Steve McLaren. Yes he made a bit of a tool of himself while he was managing England, but he did a great job at Derby & ManUre as coach, and at Boro & FC Twente as manager. You can bet he's itching to prove himself in England & he's bound to have a bulging contacts book. And I'd also like to hear him attempt a Cov accent at his first press conference

Id prefer Stuart Pearce to Neville-- probably a similar outlook, but much more experience and a Cov link.... probably no chance either!!

Tried to sign him as a first team coach when he first retired - he refused and I am know one of his most disliked people.......

In real life, again I can think of worse. The connection with united and the respect he would command are not bad attributes at all, however this is another I doubt will happen.

Would rather have Neville than some of the other names being branded about the place... Least you get the feeling he'd put the fear of god into them at half time if they were losing and thats something we need.
