Yeah you'd think so. I remember thinking it was a big fee at the time considering he'd not exactly been hammering them in.

Id doubt City could match his wage demands but even if we could he surely isn't match fit which would be a big risk to take on a January signing

I’ve seen him play for Cardiff this year. He doesn’t score. He looked ok at holding the ball up/winning headers...nothing special. Basically he looked like he did when he played for us. Rubbish.

Id have expected him to be out of their price range. Decent signing.

I'm not convinced he'd play much for us given the system we tend to go with, plus we haven't got rid of anyone to free up any wages for him anyway. Having said all that, i could see him doing ok at Blackpool if he's fit enough, they're pretty direct which may suit

We want miss him at all. He's slow, static and hardly prolific. He's knocking on a bit and when he played for us before his attitude stank and he was disruptive in changing room at Bolton. His character is shocking and I might be be wrong but I recall he got into trouble in past that led him to end up serving time at Her Majesty's pleasure? What on earth would he offer over Biamou?

He’s a 1 in 3 striker at this level

Last season he scored 3 goals in 6 starts for Sheffield United

As for knocking on a bit he’s the same age as Biamou - bizarre statement

Suspect he is ultimately a replacement for that Gnanduillet who I suspect is Championship bound for about £2m.

He's scored about 75 goals in 12 years as a senior pro. Granted he lost some time while he served two separate sentences for actual bodily harm but I'd have thought a habit of picking up criminal convictions would make folks less keen to sign him, rather than make them overlook the fact that he's bang average.

Some folks need to have a look at themselves - you'd want this bloke representing your club?

Yeah but the principle is still the same, people would have him play for us if he scored goals regardless of past.

I think Madine will do very well in this league

He has played 394 games as a pro, 161 in the Championship and scored at a rate of 4.52 games/goal

We have someone we paid money for that looks sharp and a back up striker that's scoring when he plays, and you're disappointed the club hasn't signed a thug with a dozen clubs on his CV and a terrible scoring record. I can't wrap my head around that.

His scoring record with a lot of games at Championship level is 1 in 4. Bakayoko and Biamou have about 1 in 6 records at L1 and L2 level

At no point did I say I was dissapointed. My post was regarding surprise considering most on here said that very few in League one could afford his wages.

You said we'd "missed out" but I can't be arsed to get into semantics. I'm glad he's nowhere near the club.

I don't think you can have a thread without someone bizarrely bringing up Sunderland anymore. To top it all off, it's even worse when the cringeworthy 'Scumberland' is used.
