He's yet to convince me if im honest. He's got his strengths but also weaknesses. He's not cut out to be a lone striker, he's proved that in the last couple of games and he doesn't like playing there anyway. He seems to be Pressley's number 1 target for January and seems surplus to requirements at Wednesday. What does everyone think? Should we sign Madine on a permanent basis? Yes or No?

Yes. We just need to get the right person to partner him, and he will start scoring goals. Always gives 100% and you know you will get a 6+/10 every week.

No, he has yet to convince me. Looks just a standard league 1 journeyman. Now that might be better than what we have but Gary Madine is not that good a player in all honesty.

If he had a decent partner up front he'd be top league 1 striker. against fleetwood he was literally winning headers and having to run onto his own knock ons. I'd say sign but cant imagine he'd want to move here when we'll be in league 2 next season

The question perhaps should be who could we attract here better than Madine that we can afford?

He is a very good L1 player. Probably Championship standard really. Of course SP is using the wrong tactics to get the best out of him. He needs one or better yet two players (especially at home) up front with him. That said, I don't think we will be able to keep him since he will be wanted elsewhere and we cannot compete.

ah a better question than the Wasps love in last week!

Madine, there is hardly anyone better that is in our bracket at the moment sadly, so a yes be default.

Yes. But needs to play in the right system (anything other than 6 at the back would be a start)

Erm who says we CAN afford Madine full-time???!!! I'm not convinced we can unless he reduces his wage demands by quite a lot from what he is currently
on at Wednesday!

I think he would be a decent signing. When I've seen him he seems to be the only one putting in a decent shift, he worked his backside off in the Fleetwood game despite being isolated up front in an obvious lost cause.

I have serious doubts that he would actually sign for us though. He may just be showcasing himself for the best offer, as others have done in the past. We are unlikely to be his best offer, and why would he sign for the shambles CCFC has become. He must be aware that our form for the whole of 2014 has been relegation standard.

Hasn't form improved since he came & got fit, he scored in 3 games of the 9 he has played since arriving and 2 of those games were league games we won.

Clearly he is better than the other contenders and offers more than just the goals, the problem is that City may not be paying what he can get on the open market, there will be competition for his services.

As far as I can see, sign him, keep him fit, keep him out of the night clubs and we won't go down.

He's been an abolsute hero in the last 2 games for me personally, he's had zero service or support and has won more than his fair share and worked his nuts off despite being on a hiding to nothing. He speaks more highly of the club than most our fans do nowadays so clearly he wants to be here, I'd take the gamble on him.
