I remember reading Stuart Pearce's autobio where basically said Mabbutt was a two-faced cowardly knob which, it must be said, goes against everything you see about him when he is seen in the media. Psycho said that he'd been told by an official before a game (possibly an England game or the 1991 FA Cup final) that GM had some spare tickets in his possession, some of which were due to go to SP, but when SP approached GM the latter says he doesn't have any or can't help etc. Psycho thinks little of it until the day of the game when he sees GM in the hospitality area clearly with loads of his mates to whom he has given all the freebie tickets, Psycho said from then on he regarded GM as a tosser.
