Do you really think that any of us didn't hope it would work out?

We have exceeded all hopes since his signing. Anyone who still says they would have preferred to have kept Robins must have an agenda. I for one was weary of the swap. Have seen many new managers fail for us over the years. But he has always had my backing.

Isn’t it about time we move on from the constant comparisons! Robins isn’t here anymore, let’s look forward and not back…

Exactly that. Robins saved the club. He is a Sky Blue hero and should always be remembered as such.

Lampard doesn't need to save the club, so its not a fair comparison.

In my opinion, had Robins started the same team as last season with Dovin > Collins and Rudoni > COH from last season, he’d still be in the job.

In any case, he chopped and changed and imo, it cost him his job.

Mark Robins achieved wonders for us in the most difficult of circumstances and in my eyes will always be a club legend.

The club, with King at the helm, is no longer in a complete mess. What we need now is someone to take us to the next level and all the signs are that Lampard is the right man.

We just might need to start saving for two statues.

Lampard wouldn't be here long enough for that

If he does brilliantly well, he'll be nabbed by someone higher up the food chain, I would think.

Absolutely if he gets us promoted that will immediately put him on many teams radar. If after promotion the team looks competitive rather than relegation fodder he would be linked with nearly any job going

Possibly yes, maybe no.

What's the point in speculating?

Lampard's our manager and expectation is being exceeded, and that's all that matters.

Who knows?

What I do know is Mark is a legend at the club for what he achieved and the foundations left have enabled Frank to do so well.

I hope Frank is thought off in the same way with time but without Mark, he wouldn’t have even come here.

I agree but I think we’re longer away from that than people realise.

He would only go to a decent premier league club, and for whatever reason he’s developed a reputation as a bad manager. Meaning he’ll have to perform miracles before getting near another top club

I'm not so sure.

Nearly 10 years ago Robins found out the grass isn't always greener on the other side. When he came back he stayed until pushed. Lampard has already previously got the push. He won't need the money as he earned more in a year than most people in a lifetime.

With us he has the chance of taking us from near the bottom of the Championship to the Prem. He has some very good players, a chairman that will back him and some of the best supporters backing him wherever we go. I can't see a top side coming in for him yet as he lacks the experience needed and is still unproven.

Would he leave us for a newly promoted side or a club in the bottom half of the Prem if we don't go up this season and they come in for him? I don't think so. Our club is turning into something special and you can see he is enjoying his time with us. Why risk it to take on a job where there will be a good chance of getting the sack.

Belief in himself.

Wouldn't think it would be one of the top clubs, anyway, but a Fulham, or Palace, or Brentford. I definitely think they would be interested.

I may be wrong though, but we just couldn't compete on salary and he's a London boy isn't he.

Time will tell.

At least the beauty of Lampard, is that he’s a manager who doesn’t I imagine want for money and has already managed at the highest level.

Assume this means he’d be picky about where he goes next. If I’m not wrong he already rejected sides before he came to us like Norwich.

I agree.

Maybe a London team would have a big pull for him. He won't need the big salary though. And if we don't go up this season I can see us going up in the top 2 next season.

There's more to life than earning more money, especially if you already have enough. I just think the challenge of how far he can take us could well beat taking over a lower down Prem side. And we're certainly going places.

Be a success with us and he will get a top job offered.

Frank won't jump ship early. He will have learnt the hard way. He's an incredibly wealthy man who won't need a payday.

The one job I do think will turn his head would be the England job but we are still lightyears from that.

Let’s keep it in perspective …. Frank has got off to a brilliant start but the idea that he might be a replacement anytime soon for proven managers like Thomas Frank, Silva etc is just silly.
