No contest. Wolves will be able to pay at least 3 times the wage we can offer.

Think we need to be looking to the lower leagues (not that we are now anything but a lower league team ourselves now) for unearthed talent.

Anyone from the Premiership would surely want wages way out of our price range and that would be true for most Championship players too. We need cheap (or free) up and coming players.

Never in the Race, what a stupid article.Would rather we went after Zavon Hines from Burnley who did'nt appear to get a game after signing on a free from West Ham last season ,was very useful for under Zola when he broke through .

Last year I'd have agreed, but a few high profile cases of admin and the FFP rules have changed the landscape an a lot of players will find its accept reasonable wages or have no club as lower clubs try to cut their wage bill.

Of course no contest.

When relegated clubs from the Premiership get an unbelievable £48M consisting £12M per year for four years - and that is for FAILURE.

How on earth can CCFC compete with the likes of Wolves when our wage bill is going to hover around the £2M if lucky.

Yet again a mighty unlevel playing field for the remaining 21 teams in The Championship and even worse for us chumps in Division 3.

All well & good in theory - but remember we had parachute payments (but out 'chute appeared to have a hole in it). So did Saints, they went down to L1 too. The key I's what you do with the money. Wolves do not appear to be major pay merchants so we can offer some sort of challenge our funding is REALLY there.

Weren't we linked with him before? But it was at the time when we had to choose only player to come in (I think).

Anyone who has the choice of us V Wolves are always going to choose Wolves for Money, League status, and the fact they've got a new manager who is obviously going to want to bring in his own players, and of he chooses you, you know there's a decent chance your'll play.

But still, I bet he turns out to not be our number one target now that we've (apparently) missed out on him (ala Le Fondre)

No idea on how Thorn may have thought he would be dropping to L1?

Not sure where CET have got this story from but it was better off in their gossip column rather than fact we were after him.

We came down in one of the few seasons there were no parachute payments I believe. Believe the same was true for Southampton.

You saying we came down without a parachute?

We're even more stupid than I first thought.

Remember we have lost Eastwood and Platt. We definitely need a striker.

The very basic we need to bring in is;

1 striker
2 midfielders
2 central defenders

Not convinced we will get 5 mind.
