Surely Ipswich wouldn't give him permission to play if they wanted him to stay. This has got to be a sign he could potentially come here on a permanent basis. He's out of contract in the summer so I cant see them wanting a fee

Yep, sorry. Read this morning that they hadn't given him permission, but now see that they have.

Obviously not in their plans.

This is a big sign that they don't want him. If he's outta contract, we can get him for free on a pre-contract agreement or just convince Ipswich to release him early

Martin has also been made available. Madine has also been talking up Coventry in his interviews.

Would be great if we could sign Martin, Madine and Nouble in January.

We wouldn't get Madine for free. Martin's situation seems quite similar to Seabourne's when he came here, so a similar deal could happen. Ipswich have made it clear Nouble isn't in their plans today, but its just a matter of if he wants to stay or go to a bigger club, which he could easily do

Correct KG82. Just found out he signed a 4 and a half year deal with Wednesday in January 2011, so if my maths is right, that deal runs out in summer 2015

Totally agree Liam...that was my first thought. If Ipswich have any wish to keep Nouble, they would ensure he didn't play at the weekend so he wouldn't be cup tied when heading back to Portman Road.

His future doesn't necessarily lie with us but I defo think it doesn't lie with Ipswich either.

Exactly, Ipswich don't enter the competition until Janaury, when Nouble will be back there, so why would they let him play if they intend to use him? Like you say, theres no guarantee his future is here, but it isn't at Ipswich, which gives us hope

Statistics are wonderful....can be manipulated a number of ways. For example, Frank Nouble:

* Pre-Cov - 134 appearances (inc sub) / 14 goals = Scored in 10.4% of his games
* Cov - 6 appearances / 3 goals = Scored in 50% of his games

Statistically, Nouble's also got more than the average number of legs, which is something I always look for in a striker.

Don't think its necessarily a sign of that at all. It just means they wont need him for future FA Cup ties. Unless you are in the running to win the FA Cup, what difference does it make? They have plenty of good strikers anyway.

You could argue that strikers get more goals per game at CCFC because we score so few from midfield.

Not at all - it's just that the average number of legs (mean, technically) is less than two, for humans. And Nouble has at least two. I think. Possibly more.

It makes a big difference. Big team or not, you wanna go as far as possible. He isn't a crucial player for them but if McGoldrick gets injured he may be needed. So they obviously aren't planning for a future with Nouble

I thought Nouble was crap at Leyton Orient - I think his main problem is consistency/attitude. When he can be bothered great player but he cannot be bothered
one game in two - he definitely appeared to be going through the motions at Orient.

I think in his own mind Nouble rates himself as higher than league 1 standard - in reality he s not as Ipswich's attitude shows.

All that being said he is probably our best striking option so that he is available for cup and also not in Ipswich's plans is good news for us initially anyhow.
It also may see more consistency in his performances for us as he will want to put himself in shop window now for sure.
