And he's also not stating that from the last 6 games we played 2 sides that were promoted and 1 side who finished 7th 3 days after playing man united at Wembley.

Using last seasons form is absolutely mental gymnastics

I posted saying we lost 8 games after mid Feb.

Again, the reason I chose that date is because we'd lost 1 games in 10 weeks.

No the reason you chose that date is because you could make the end of season bad form look drawn out and long when it wasn't

If I wanted to make it look bad, I'd have posted from the date you are mentioning.

Reality is up until Leeds the form was generally pretty good with a couple of losses .

We finished the season with a small knackered squad that gave us an amazing cup run but clearly weren't able to maintain a playoff push , against hull we started with several top players on the bench with fatigue .

To use the end of last season as an argument in regards to Robins is disingenuous and quite sad really , but the only reason some do use it is because it helps with their shitty argument for wanting him sacked early doors this season

My personal take on it is this, not wanting to argue either side but, after the Wolves win, I would have imagined a lot of players would have had one eye on Wembley, not saying anyone put less of an effort into the league games but it could have happened, then after Wembley the team were drained, they had given their all, and I think we just lost our way with such a small squad

"Lampard made his debut for West Ham on 31 January 1996 against Coventry City"

Now I can that see it's clearly all just fate, I've moved from 'Meh' to 'Yes' because I'm bored.

Stop being rational and reasoned

The squad was too small and was running on empty in the end. Clearly fatigued.

As great as the cup run was, it buggered up our league run.

We had nothing to play for in the end and some on here were even saying bung some kids in to see how they get on.

Now we seem to be getting lots of Robins didn't know what he was doing and was losing the plot. It's all rather sad.

You have to, simply have to take in the fact that the squad was too small, the players were fatigued and the cup run did us no favours in the league.

So much selective memory going on and it's sad

Robins was a fabulous manager for us.

It's time to move on, but quite a few people seem to be trying to unpick his tenure (like, it was down to Adi, rather than him etc)

I honestly think we should just leave it now and move on to the next man who is going to be at the helm

How long is it going to take Doug to pretend he’s going through the process, before he appoints Lampard?

Surely the relevant period for the new coaching setup is from when the team was put together in July? If you do that 10 games into the season, you are judging them pretty quickly after a string of tight games without much luck, and against the backdrop of missed transfer targets and gaps in the squad.

Great post.

been staggered by people trying to claim MR wasn’t this or that. Just be thankful the last 7 years happened, what a journey. We don’t have to find fault with anyone.

most love affairs don’t end on happy note, this no different.

Those 7 years, especially the last couple will be lifetime memories - hamer, Vik , Wembley , wolves , it goes on.

My kids think it’s just pure glory supporting Coventry, only know MR and Wembley ole ole ole, suspect this is now the reality coming up!!!!

It clearly annoyed Doug because he made a big deal of the post-Wolves run.

He made a big deal of the poor home form.

Worth remembering as well who asked for said cup run. Previous years we had ducked out at the earliest opportunity likely because Robins felt our squad was too thin. To have that sized squad, that competitive on two fronts was a magnificent achievement

Wrong

You can’t criticise him at all on here without getting jumped on by the same 2-3 posters who will defend him to the end of the earth.

Most people aren’t trying to rewrite history, just pointing out that the sacking wasn’t entirely down to some bad luck/form to start the season.

does seem odd as we would have had idea surely.

I guess if Lampard (or whoever) is going to be installed as Head Coach he's going to want to bring someone in with him and it's possible that some coaching staff in place will be moving on.
That then takes time and may be the reason why there is a delay.
Just my thoughts on it
