Couldn’t be clearer here “I’m not a manager, I’m a coach”. With that he should fit into our system.

And if nothing else, he’s a great speaker

Yeah but he's a manager because people are still sad and bitter about robins

The most disappointing thing for me, is that there were rumours about Lampard being thrown around before Robins was sacked. IT's clearly been in the works for a while.

Lorna Bailey should be happy then. She seemed furious that King hadn’t gone behind Robins’ back

Why are people writing him off already ffs? Same people that will try and create a hostile atmosphere at the ground when we go a goal down or misplace a pass.

Give him a chance ffs. Some of the newer fans have been proper spoilt last few years.

Because he's not "Mark" who would have got us promoted this year even though we wasted a third of the season.

There were a few. I remember dismissing them as we wouldn't be stupid enough to sack Robins.... As soon as he was gone, I was concerned

People are so obsessed with robins we know what the outcome will be.

Achieve success - would have happened anyway

Dont make the play offs - Robins would

Lose in the play offs - with robins we’d be in the premier league

People on here are just embarrassing

Interesting when he said he needs to be better at not trying to oversee everything and needs to delegate things more. Sounds ideal for what Doug wants

Frank Lampard Finally Speaks Out About What REALLY Happened At Chelsea | E264

Frank Lampard discusses his return to Chelsea as interim manager and reflects on his experiences as a player and coach, the challenges faced at Chelsea, and the lessons learned from grief and personal struggles. He emphasizes the importance of standards and culture within a football club while providing insights into his management philosophy and the impact of his late mother on his character.

Key Points:

Influences of Family on Career
Lampard describes how his father was a tough coach who pushed him hard in football, contributing significantly to his work ethic. His mother's emotional support provided balance, shaping his character and approach to challenges.

Fear of Failure as a Motivator
Lampard shares how the fear of failure was a significant driving force in his career, leading to intense dedication and a strong work ethic. He discusses how this fear sometimes leads to overthinking but also instills humility.

Challenges of Coaching at Chelsea
Reflecting on his time as interim manager, Lampard discusses the challenges of managing a large squad of players, many of whom were not motivated due to various circumstances, which impacted the team's performance.

Managing Player Relationships
He emphasizes the importance of managing player expectations and maintaining high standards. He recognizes the difficulty of motivating players who are potentially leaving the club.

Coping with Grief
Lampard opens up about the death of his mother, describing the emotional toll it took on him and how he coped by focusing on his football career. He describes a 'zombie' period where he operated on autopilot after her passing.

Future Aspirations
Looking forward, Lampard expresses a desire to continue in coaching, emphasize the importance of enjoying family time, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Advice for Chelsea Fans and Future Hope
Lampard reassures Chelsea fans about the club's future under new management and calls for patience as the club transitions, emphasizing the owners' intentions to improve the team.

Footballs always been a bit like that though to be fair. For instance would Mark of got the job back with how he left and how Scunthorpe had gone if he wasn’t good friends with Tim Fisher

Seems as though a few of us (including me) have gone from meh to yeah. As the dust has settled and we know Robins isnt coming back, yes Lampard has a bit of tarnish on his name but he took a break and has good knowledge and is a coach and looks to play the way a lot of us want to see and think suits the squad best.
I will be reserving my judgement on him till the end of the season get behind him and we all have to give him time because you never know we’ve seen it before where managers fail until they reach the right club who’s to say we’re not the right club

Also his reputation will give us a small boost and maybe better players may be attracted to play under a legend of the game for a club with potential to be at the top
