I don't think anyone attainable feels like the right fit, we have been used to the same man in the dug out for 7 years and it will take time to adjust

I do feel some people, not necessarily yourself are going to be chomping at the bit to jump down Frank's throat the minute we lose a game though

this is a ‘easy’ decision by king rather than actually thinking out the box

it’s got Birmingham vibes all over it

Zola and Rooney

Because it seems to that name won over substance here. He's hardly set the managerial world alight in the past. He is more of a manager than a head coach. Seems mad to jettison stability for such a underwhelming appointment.

Ive no doubt this was nailed on from the moment Robins was sacked.

Understand the point but we’re always fishing in this area.

Hard to find any serial winners in the bottom end of the championship but what we have got if reported is a manager who got to a playoff final, got a team top four in the prem when there weren’t expecting it, and Won his Champions league group.

Understand Robins and would rather have him, but keep in mind Robins Career before he came here.

Was waiting for someone to bring up something like this, which is nonsense.

Fans want us to win every game no matter who is in charge. People can express their disappointment, doesn't mean we want the team to lose or be happy if we do. Silly.

Sorry I believe I am right

We have a lot of people in the fanbase who thrive on telling people 'I told you so' even if it is of detriment to the club

Exactly it almost became contagious. People who usually defend the indefensible as well suddenly writing off a manager who hasn't started yet.

There are plenty that post on a match thread after a defeat that are nowhere to be seen after a win. I want us to win every game including friendlies. I am not convinced FL is the right man, would have preferred Rosenior, Eustace or Buckingham, but if that's who we appoint I will get behind the team as we all should

He took over Chelsea as interim for 2 months because the club was in a complete mess and he was a stop gap before Poch came in. Players couldn’t be arsed and Potter left the squad in a mess. He wasn’t a perm manager with influence.

Everton where Rafa and Carlos failed and Chelsea with Tucel and Graham failed. Both were complete basket cases tbh. Think most would have failed. Hell Sean Dyche win rate isn’t much better

He was managing Chelsea, not Sheffield United. Winning 1 in 11 is embarrassing

I don't get the clamour for Eustace one bit, I'd genuinely have Lampard over him

Rosenior has a cushy job in Ligue 1 and why would Buckingham come to us?

Lampard was a laughing stock by the time he left Chelsea with that record

if any other championship team appointed Lampard everyone on here would be laughing at the said appointment. because it’s us. People feel they are obligate to stick up for it

I hope I am wrong but this feels like easy choice with no real substance

Understand your view point and what would be a forum if we all agreed.

Proof will be in the pudding at the end of year, will back him and the club until then.

Course it is, no one would argue it isn’t but they would argue around the circumstances of the squad at that point.

I wanted a change but not for frank fucking Lampard

going to be Rooney and Birmingham x 2

thought king would actually conduct a proper search for a manager across the globe

It's all opinions isn't it? Maybe King didn't want to go after someone already employed and have to pay more compensation. Eustace did a decent job at Blues and he is doing so at Blackburn with squad's not as good as ours. If it is Lampard and King had already decided when he sacked MR then surely this should have been done & dusted last week, maybe he's taken this long to make us think it was a thorough search

We do need to be balanced on FL

His season at Derby was a success ( losing in play off final ) and his first spell at Chelsea a success ( 4th in Premier League and fA Cuo Final.

Everton was a disaster, as it has been for many more proven managers than FL.

Chelsea was a disaster but FL has admitted he was shocked at the poor attitudes of the players when he arrived.

I suspect if it is FL he will be very hungry to prove himself and that’s no bad thing.

Would love to know how a club that’s supposedly relying on data analytics and other advanced metrics to make decisions could ultimately land on Frank Lampard as the choice for manager.

Is this a done deal now or is it still speculation? Have the talks between him and King come to a conclusion and if so when will this be officially announced

Hope we don't just become a team dependent on loans again. Would be nice to get a few rising stars permanently.

I’m sure we will do but most of the forum has spent the season complaining about not bringing in loans to supplement the current squad! The article even says that they suspect one will be with an option to buy.

Harry Redknapp has yet to give the green light, but probably a done deal once he's consulted with Sarn.

I suspect it's a done deal, the option for next Coventry manager on skybet has disappeared.

I would be over the moon if its Lampard but only on the basis of if he's successful for us. If we get him and we haven't turned things around by January, things are going to be uncomfortable. I so want it to work but I'm nervous.
