I was close to being Frankpilled but I'm open to the idea of getting in the Van instead.

To be honest, I'm not bothered who we get in, provided they do a good job. We could get in Ruud van N and he may turn out to be a dud. Similarly, Lampard may come in and do a great job. I don't mind who it is, as they will get my support and I'll wish said person well. I haven't seen Potter (Solihull based, and out of work) mentioned much - I assume that is because people think he's waiting for a 'bigger' job?

Potter still be being paid around £100,000 a year by Chelsea. No way he drops down to us imo

Sorry I’m actually a clown.

It was £200,000 a week but looks like it’s now paid off. Still imagine that puts him way out of our budget.

Does anyone seriously think RvN is an option? He's not.

For those asking why Carsley, he obviously won the u21 euros but did it playing really good fast attacking one touch football.

Obviously there are questions surrounding translating his success to club football, but you can see why he would be of interest

The thought of Lampard is so depressing. Style over substance imho, not sure he's as good as he thinks he is, all ego. On the other hand if you want to hang around with your F1 mates, clearly he's your man

Stick to the Robins mold

He’s from such a prick generation of players as well. One of the least likeable England teams.

Style wise I like him, but he completely fucked that Greece game where he thought he was the smartest man in the room playing without a striker and it totally backfired

You can’t write a manager off over one game though. I’m not convinced because I don’t think kids football is anything like the same game, but he’s shown promise and played at the highest level. He’s at least as good a shout as Lampard.

Would still much rather we didn’t sign a celeb

To be fair think the England Job is a poisoned chalice no matter who has the job.

On Lee think you have to judge him on the U21s apart from the two odd games for England. Will also say always worried about motivation in international for us and Greece were absolutely fired up for a horrible reason.

I don't often disagree with you Torchy, but I cant see what's wrong with Carsley.

Seen as an innovative and effective coach, and has done very well with the under21 team.
We need a Head Coach, that is what he does, and he seems to have a pretty good idea on what he is doing as opposed to some other candidates.
Personally I would have him above Lampard every time.

He was hung out to dry by the media after the Greece game. The very same journalists that were calling for places to be found for Bellingham, Foden and Gordon and were lauding his false 9 plan before kickoff were all pressing send on their “tactical naïveté” articles on the final whistle.

And it turns out Tuchel had already been offered the England job by then anyway.

If he wanted to come (he’s been in temporary charge and declined an extended role twice before) I’d be very happy with Carsley as head coach I think.

Pep & Zidane were both bald midfielders who started off their managerial career with the reserve/youth teams of clubs they played for. They both subsequently took over the respective first teams and led them to Champions League glory. On that basis it has to be Carsley and I look forward to seeing us lift the trophy in the Bernabeu in a few years time.

Is this the order in which we are going to hire and fire these four in quick succession over the next two years?

Same people writing off Carsley for his 4 game england spell are the ones saying to ignore Lampards 11 game caretaker spell because “the players were on the beach”

Let's be honest, it's highly unlikely we keep a manager for more than a couple of years whether they're a success of failure.
Going to be weird going back to a regular turn over.
