Beat the Chelsea goal scoring record today, amazing record for a midfielder

Not bad for a midfielder Nick, but I think Cristiano Ronaldo would still be classed a midfielder and he has clocked up 200 (just 2 less than Lampard at Chelsea) for Real Madrid in a third of the time... Lampard's scoring rate is good for a regular midfielder, but the trend towards midfielders operating as auxiliary forwards (like Ronaldo, Bale, Michu and Fellaini) will make comparison difficult in future.

Chelsea are crazy to let him go in the summer. Still has a few years left in him, and he guarantees you a fair few goals in a season.

They would be stupid to let him go in the summer, he still has a lot to give but having said that they have some class midfielders at present. He can still play a role similar to what Giggs has for united

Awesome record. His movement yesterday was class.

I'd also say Ronaldo is definitely not a midfielder! Plays where he wants, which is usually in the last third!
